Bridgeforth Stadium and Zane Showker Field is a football only facility located on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The stadium is home to the James Madison University Dukes football team.Bridgeforth Stadium, with a seating capacity of 24,877, is currently the largest stadium in the Colonial Athletic Association and 13th largest at the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision level.HistoryOriginally named Madison Stadium, it was built in 1975 and had a capacity of approximately 5,200. The stadium was originally designed as a multi-purpose facility, and hosted football, track and field, lacrosse, and field hockey events. In addition, the stadium contained indoor racquetball courts, several classrooms, support space for the JMU ROTC program, and administrative offices for JMU varsity athletic teams and media relations. In 1981, the stadium then called JMU Stadium, underwent its first expansion which included a second set of seats giving it a total capacity of more than 12,000. The stadium was again renamed in 1990 for William E. Bridgeforth, former member of the JMU Board of Visitors. In 2003 the field was named in honor of JMU benefactor Zane Showker (whose name is also on the building for JMU's School of Business). In 2004, the university added a new scoreboard with video replay features, which was dismantled after the 2010 season as part of a signifigcant renovation of the entire facility. It was replaced by a much larger video scoreboard behind the south endzone. In 2006, the existing artificial turf was replaced with FieldTurf. The stadium is situated in the Lakeside area of campus, and is adjacent to the multimillion-dollar Plecker Athletic Center and a five story parking deck.

Woodrow Wilson Hall is a building on the campus of James Madison University located on the center of the university's quadrangle in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Dedicated on 15 May 1931, the building's namesake is President Woodrow Wilson, who was born in nearby Staunton, Virginia. The cornerstone of Wilson Hall was laid on June 19, 1930. The building was constructed out of a blue-gray colored limestone block known as "bluestone" mined from several local quarries.Occupancy and UseWilson Hall initially served as the main administration building for the university and housed the president's office, the post office, classrooms, and the first permanent auditorium on campus . During the late 1930s, a recording and broadcasting studio was built in the basement. In the late 1960s, Wilson Hall hosted a mens' lounge. For a number of years, the art department was housed within the building. The last classroom, a geography classroom/laboratory was moved out of Wilson Hall in 1990-91. Currently, Wilson Hall houses the student administrative offices.ArchitectureThe building was designed by architect Charles M. Robinson. Constructed as the centerpiece of the JMU quadrangle, Wilson Hall is a three story building featuring a portico supported with four Roman Doric columns, and a hipped roof topped with a cupola. The inset windows of the building are enclosed by bluestone walls, and are placed in bays with a variable rhythm of three, one, and two. Facing northwest, Wilson Hall is flanked by Maury Hall (built in 1909) and Keezell Hall (built in 1927)

The John C. Wells Planetarium is located in Harrisonburg, Virginia at James Madison University and is a $2 million, state-of-the-art hybrid facility. It hosts both an Evans & Sutherland Digistar 5, an ultra-high resolution digital projection system, and a Goto Chronos opto-mechanical star projector that provides visitors with a superior and realistic night sky.Full dome movies are open to the public throughout the year, alongside a star talk in which the two systems work together to project the multi-wavelength universe on the dome as well as an authentic night sky for any location on the Earth’s surface, displaying the stars, planets and constellations seasonally. The John C. Wells Planetarium also employs students enrolled at James Madison University to operate the system and host shows to the public.HistoryTimelineLate 1940's: James Madison University, then Madison College, purchased its first planetarium to be installed in the attic of Burruss Hall1956: Planetarium first installed on JMU’s campus by Dr. John C. Wells (Professor in the James Madison University Physics Department (1947–1979), Physics Department Head (1955–1974), and Planetarium Curator (1950–1979)) in the attic of Burruss Hall during the fall semester. The cost of the installation was $500 for the Spitz Model A star projector, and about $850 for the 20-ft fabric dome. Dr. John Wells built the console at the cost of approximately $100. Usage mainly for school groups and college classes.1975: Moved to Miller Hall, where it is still currently located. A Goto II star projector replaced the obsolete equipment in Burruss, manufactured in Japan and installed at a cost of $47,000 by Planetariums Unlimited, a branch of Viewlex Audio-Visual, Inc. The cost of $47,000 was considerably lower than the other two bids offered by Minolta and Spitz because Viewlex was preparing to cease marketing GOTO planetarium projectors in the country. Spitz is now the U.S. GOTO representative. The old Spitz Model A, the dome, and console were given to the Augusta County School Division in hopes that it would be installed at the county educational center at Fishersville, VA.

Nothing in the business world operates in a vacuum. The same can be said for our business curriculum. BusinessWeek has ranked us third on the public schools list and fourth out of all undergraduate business schools in the U.S. for return on investment, calculated by comparing annual tuition and required fees and median starting salaries for 2008 graduates. Our juniors spend a semester in an integrated course that's team-taught by professors from every business discipline. This unique synthesis prepares them to understand the interrelations of business systems, an incredible advantage over students from other schools. Constant innovation is our hallmark. More than 250 companies visit our campus each year. Our job placement rate is about 90 percent during the past decade. Our students learn to excel in group work because we know that employers demand it. What do our business students expect? Academic rigor, team projects, class presentations, priority on information technology, a supportive infrastructure, and a successful future.
