Description of Program: The strength and conditioning staff at North Dakota State takes a comprehensive approach to the physical development of the student-athlete. Strength training, speed development, plyometrics, agility and conditioning programs are based on the specific movements and physiological demands of each sport. Department Philosophy: In the weight room, we utilize a free-weight approach. Olympic-style weight lifting movements are taught through a progression of exercises to ensure safety and proper technique. The trademark of our program is a hands-on approach, which involves coaching and teaching each athlete on every lift, stride and movement. Just like the athlete is coached on the field, court or mat, he or she is also coached in the weight room.
