The intersection of Haywood Street & Flint Street has a tradition of hosting events that dates back over 100 years. The Thomas Wolfe Auditorium opened in 1975. The auditorium has a seating capacity 2,431. The Thomas Wolfe Auditorium lobby offers a place for patrons to congregate and socialize while enjoying something to eat or drink from the concessions stand. The auditorium is the annual home of the Asheville Symphony Orchestra. The auditorium has hosted acts such as: BB King, Willie Nelson and Jerry Seinfeld.

Homewood, a special event and conference center in Asheville, North Carolina, is an ideal destination for rehearsal dinners, weddings and receptions, parties, reunions, meetings, conferences, seminars, and other special events. Homewood is a beautifully restored 1920's stone manor located in Asheville's post-Victorian historic district of Montford. The elegant castle features original hardwood floors, cherry walls, 20 foot ceilings, grand Appalachian stone fireplaces and alabaster sconces. Originally built as a private home, the elegance of the 1920's is translated with luxurious wrought iron chandeliers casting graceful lighting. Conveniently located less than one mile north of downtown Asheville, Homewood offers plenty of free, designated parking and beautiful grounds in a neighborhood setting, Homewood is an excellent location for gatherings large or small. The Great Room seats just over 100 people for dinner, or up to 150 with cocktail seating, with space for a dance floor and band or DJ. Homewood has been refined with modern amenities such as a handicap-accessible restroom and elevator. The grounds surrounding Homewood provide additional outdoor space, including our garden ceremony site and a large lawn where tented events can be held. Asheville Contemporary Dance Theatre is a non-profit professional dance company created in 1979. As western North Carolina's first professional modern dance company, we believe that everything everywhere is dance and everyone is a dancer. We explore the through lines that exist between cultures, our society, and our world. Through art and inspiration, the company illuminates the the points of intersection that exist on both intellectual and emotional levels, and our diverse repertory reflects both traditional and experimental forms of modern dance. ACDT performs up to 80 times a year in Asheville, its hometown, the southeastern United States, and abroad (France, Canada, Cuba, Mexico...). Our repertory consists of both full-length modern dance ballets geared toward more mature audiences such as Looking for Frida and The Last Dance of Mata Hari as well as shows geared towards children and general audiences such as The Legend of Chocolate and Fables. ACDT is the producer of several dance and performing arts festivals in Asheville (The Asheville Fringe Arts Festival, the 48 Hour Dance Project, and The Men's Dance Festival to name a few) and through White Dog ProjectX International, ACDT's professional international touring program, they bring in artists from around the world to share their talents and enrich the Asheville community.
