Programming takes place year-round at our new location at 5959 Delmar Blvd. in the Loop East. The largest portion of the 200+ youth we serve each year are apprentices in ArtWorks’ Summer Program. Since 1995, youth apprentices in the Summer Program have been hired through a competitive application process in which artistic talent and personal motivation are employment criteria. Past apprentices who successfully finish the summer program by showing leadership, talent, and interest are invited to continue working in the fall and spring programs.
Fontbonne University Fine Arts Gallery's mission is to encourage and support the artist and the education of the visual arts in the community through its exhibitions and programs. We value the artist and their work by promoting and supporting them through exhibitions, gallery talks, education and outreach programs. We want to help build audiences for the artist’s work by providing the community with a venue to view quality art. We believe in creating an educational environment for both the artist and audience to interact for a more personal experience of art. We serve Artists - young, emerging, and professional; Art Viewers - novice, those seeking more knowledge and experience of the arts; Art Collector; and Special Populations. We reach out to these communities by providing professional art programs and encouraging the participation of art through a variety of learning opportunities. The Gallery renovation was generously funded by the Fontbonne Community Connection January 2011. The Figure Now Exhibition was the first exhibition in the new space.

Compônere Gallery was founded March 1986 prominently located across from landmark Blueberry Hill, in University City’s bustling Loop district. Componere has offered St. Louis’s residents and visitors an eclectic mix of handcrafted art for over two decades. Compônere is a favorite stop for people of all ages. The gallery more than lives up to the meaning of the Latin word compônere: “to arrange or put together” we feature artist that lives in the area. Owner Eleanor Ruder, a retired Art Teacher, founded the gallery. She works creatively and tirelessly to bring together in the sunny, 3,600-square-foot space, works of art that resonate with shoppers seeking unique creations that are a joy to wear or display in their homes, or to give as a very special gift.
Since 1986, Compônere has been located in the University City Loop, the heart of a revitalized area of St. Louis County recognized for showcasing regional arts. Originally designed to be friendly and UN-gallery-like Compônere Gallery of Art and Fashion was one of the first galleries of its kind in the St. Louis area. According to owner and founder Eleanor Wilson Ruder, the name 'Compônere' is derived from the Latin compônere, as in 'coming together,' 'putting together,' or 'arranging objects.'

I love my job and enjoy the challenge of connecting with people of different backgrounds, gender, race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic levels. I have over 10 years and 10,000 hours of experience, with specific interests and training in couples therapy, depression, anxiety, stress, sleep issues, infertility, chronic health issues, and grief. I am also fluent in Spanish and write detailed psychosocial evaluations for immigration cases. Regardless of the service provided, what I offer to my clients is a commitment to growth, wholeness, health and life-long development. I am constantly reading articles and books so I can have up-to-date information to incorporate into my life and work as a therapist, wife, parent, friend, daughter, sibling, and community member. I am especially interested in research on the brain and how we can utilize simple, evidence-based techniques to impact our neural circuitry, emotional regulation, physical health, and relationships. I impart to my clients what I have gleaned -- through both my successes and failures -- and help them apply it to their unique life situations.
