The Piper Palm House's Café Madeleine offers visitors a relaxing environment to plan or reflect on their park experience every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. During that time, visitors may enjoy a brunch buffet amid the palms and statues, or outdoors on the Stupp Plaza in warm weather. The adjacent lily ponds offer a tranquil backdrop against which to relax or visit with friends or family. The Piper Palm House is also available for a variety of events, including wedding receptions, graduation parties, and other celebrations.
One bright morning, Tower Grove East resident Paul Whitsitt found himself staring down said broken coffee pot, then having to climb into his car and drive several miles to get an early morning brew for himself and partner David Rodgers. And thus the idea for Kitchen House Coffee was born: TGE needed its own neighborhood place. A place committed to local, freshly sourced product; a place where the baristas will remember you— and your partner and best friend and father and daughter and dog— by name. The coffee house is an extension of Whitsitt and Rodgers' urban farm on Michigan Avenue, Kitchen House Farm, named for the old kitchen house that still stands on the property. The vision for Kitchen House Coffee is centered around the idea of finding a country respite in the city— a repurposed, urban space focused on sustainable product. All of our coffee, tea, pastry and foodstuffs come from STL city businesses. Plus we’ve got organic, in-house pressed juices. And fresh cut flowers. And chickens out back. Yes, chickens. Urban. Farm. Home. This is what Kitchen House Coffee means to us. We can’t wait to welcome you in.
