Kumaran Chinnappan MD,FACS,FRCS,FASMBS is an American Board certified and Fellowship trained in Bariatric Surgery.He has performed hundreds of laparoscopic bariatric surgeries.He has been awarded the Center of Excellence (COE) surgeon status by the American Society of Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Kumaran graduated from University of Madras, Madras Medical College in Chennai, India in 1994. After graduation, Dr. Kumaran pursued advanced surgical training in India, London and Singapore and USA. He has made many presentations at both national and international surgical meetings. He was awarded the SLS Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Resident Award by the Society of Laparoendoscpic Surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons (ASMBS) and Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, London, UK and fellow of ASMBS. Dr. Kumaran is married and has two children. His interests include basketball and tennis.

Peter Fonseca, MD, a board-certified, fellowship-trained thoracic surgeon, provides a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of chest diseases from his clinical experience based on best practices and national organization guidelines. He performs median sternotomy, thoracotomy, minimally invasive thoracoscopic resection and robotic procedures. Each procedure is tailored to the patient and their disease pathology to provide the best chance for success and the quickest recovery with the best outcome. Dr. Fonseca’s practice is limited to thoracic surgery. While the majority of his surgeries are for diseases of the lung, he also sees esophageal and mediastinal disease frequently, including benign and malignant tumors. In consultations with multiple physicians and considering multiple treatment options for chest diseases, we develop a plan with the patient’s input on how best to treat a particular disease for that particular patient.
