The College of Education and Human Development is the leading provider of educators in the San Antonio area and one of the largest in the state of Texas. The college is an exciting place to be. Student enrollment is increasing at a rapid rate and our program offerings are expanding dramatically, with courses offered at the Main Campus as well as the Downtown Campus. We offer programs in interdisciplinary studies and teacher preparation, educational leadership, counseling, higher education administration, educational psychology, health and kinesiology, bicultural-bilingual studies, women's studies, African American Studies and Mexican American studies. Field-based experiences and action research projects are important components of our degree programs and play a critical role in preparing students for their chosen careers.
VOICES was founded by four students who attended the COOL Conference at the University of Illinois in 1993. The theme of the conference was "Listen to the Voices, Make the Connections!" Tom Brown, Manny Longoria, Rosa Mina, and Carl Muniz created VOICES in 1993.
Since 1988 the UTSA Ambassadors have served as the student hosts for the UTSA community, volunteering over 7,000 service hours in a year. Ambassadors are enthusiastic students with strong leadership and communication skills and are dedicated to representing their University. Ambassadors commit to 6 hours of service a month. Among other requirements, applicants must have completed a minimum of one semester at UTSA and have a minimum 2.75 GPA. Committed to service, leadership, and integrity, the Ambassadors provide more than 5000 service hours to the University community a year. You may have seen the Ambassadors in action on campus at the Fall Convocation, the Information Tables at the beginning of each semester, the Ring Ceremonies, or giving campus tours for prospective students, parents, and other campus visitors.
The EMBA program provides a collaborative learning environment where students engage with accomplished faculty and a diverse peer group with relevant experience and perspectives from a variety of industries. This collaborative environment provides an opportunity for students to strengthen business fundamentals, acquire advanced skills and knowledge that are immediately applicable and build an exceptional platform for career and personal growth.

Welcome to the Department of Communication! We are the second largest department in the College of Liberal and Fine Arts with over 900 majors and 24 full-time faculty. We specialize in communication studies with concentrations in Public Relations and Technical Communication at the undergraduate level. We also have an expanding MA Program with over 40 active graduate students. Our graduate faculty specializes in Interpersonal/Small Group Communication, Intercultural/International Communication, Organizational Communication and New Media studies. We have a number of faculty researching and teaching in the area of Health Communication. Our department houses two cutting edge Mac computer labs with the latest software, and a nationally ranked debate team. Our students are involved with campus life through several registered student organizations sponsored by the department. Come join us and learn about the exciting world of communication. H. The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at UTSA offers students a wide variety of language study choices with courses in Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, linguistics, translation, and literature. The Career Action Program (CAP) is a 15 hour professional development program, offered to students with the UTSA College of Business. The program focuses on resume development, preparation for and participation in a mock interview, business and dining etiquette sessions, information sessions by corporations and instruction on the construction of an effective elevator speech. The Green Fund is supported by student fees and administered by the Vice President for Student Affairs through a student-majority committee. The Staff Council, in keeping with the mission of UTSA, is an advisory body through which eligible Staff members may convey information and make recommendations to the President regarding interests and concerns of Staff. The Staff Council is charged by the President and by the Board of Regents of the University of Texas System, with the goal of continually improving university operations and the well being of UTSA's staff. The Staff Council is charged to address matters of general concern to the university community, and in particular to staff members of UTSA, and is not intended to supplant existing procedures for addressing individual grievances.
