The Church of the Incarnation is a historic Episcopal church at 205-209 Madison Avenue at the northeast corner of 35th Street in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. The church was founded in 1850 as a chapel of Grace Church located at 28th Street and Madison. In 1852, it became an independent parish, and in 1864-85 the parish built its own sanctuary at its current location.Notable parishionersNotable among the parishioners of the church were Admiral David Farragut and Eleanor Roosevelt, who was confirmed in the church. The funeral for the mother of Franklin Delano Roosevelt was held at the church, and a ramp was built so that FDR could attend. Several prominent families had pews and have memorials in the church, including the Delanos, Langdons, Sedgwicks, Seaburys, Brooks, and Rikers families.BuildingsThe sanctuary was built in 1864-1865, and was designed by Emlen T. Littel. It was "distinguished for both its architecture and refined interior decoration and artwork." The cornerstone was laid on March 8, 1864 by Bishop Horatio Potter of the New York Diocese, the first services were held on December 11, and the church was consecrated on April 20, 1865. The church rectory was constructed in 1868-69, designed by Robert Mook.

The Holy Eucharist is celebrated every Sunday at 2 pm in Madison Square Park and generally meets near the south west corner of the park at 23rd Street and Fifth Avenue . The Madison Square Park Congregation was founded on the Day of Pentecost, 2007. The currect pastor is the Rev. James "Seamus" Campbell, an Old Catholic priest part of the Old Catholic Church, Province of the US and assisted by the Rev. Deacon Denise LaVetty of the Episcopal Diocese of New York. Thirty eight souls attended the first Eucharist celebrated in this park on a sunny and pleasantly warm Sunday afternoon. Pastor Clyde welcomed everyone and made introductory remarks. The Rev. David Lewicki officiated and preached. A second meal was provided by members of Marble Collegiate Church, one of our participating ‘housed’ congregations, and everyone enjoyed a real spirit of fellowship. Attendance ranges from a few to twenty-five. Currently, 15 to 25 regular parishioners participate in worship with us weekly. In the event of inclement weather (wet or weather below 32 degrees) or we are displaced by crowds, like the yearly National BBQ which places its major beer tent on our usual site, the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament which offers serving instruction and other tennis tips on our usual site, or the installation of periodic public art projects in the park, the annual Gay Pride March or the Big Apple Bar-b-cue, we move to the garden or Church of the Transfiguration on 29th and between Madison and Fifth Avenues and start the Mass at 2:15 pm Ecclesia Ministries provides a Real Presence of Christ to those on the margins and really invites your presence and your participation. Rissho Kosei-kai New York Center for Engaged Buddhism We are a spiritual association of people practicing and studying the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha. We come from diverse backgrounds -race, gender, income, spirituality -but are untied with the desire to bring about the Buddha's Land -world peace and unity. We embrace the Threefold Lotus Sutra as our main scripture. This Scripture has three main teachings, they are -1. All living things (people, animals and nature) have Buddha nature, that is the ability to become Buddhas. 2. The Buddha has existed forever. This means that truth is eternal and universal and has taken various forms throughout time to enlighten people. And 3. The noblest form of spiritual practice is the Bodhisattva Path, which means, working for not only your own happiness and enlivenment, but the happiness and enlightenment for all people and living things. With these teachings in mind, members of Rissho Kosei-kai of New York and RK members globally work to spread the teachings, co-operate with others faiths, promote disarmament, peace and charity and move to end hate, war and poverty. Members chant the Sutra daily and study the teachings, both on their own and together, and apply the Bodhisattva ideal in their daily lives. The Parish of Calvary ~ St. George’s is a community of people in the Episcopal Diocese of New York, which is a constituent member of the world-wide Anglican Communion. Our worship, which is steeped in The Book of Common Prayer, is intended first and foremost to glorify God in Jesus Christ, and we stand in that theological tradition which owes a debt of gratitude to the great reformers of the English Reformation. With them, we ascribe to the following: Statement Of Beliefs 1. A belief in the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; three distinct Persons co-equal in Glory and co-eternal in majesty and of one substantial Godhead, such that there are not three gods but one God. 2. A belief in the Holy Scriptures as divine revelation, inerrantly inspired, (theopneustos) by God, carrying the full measure of His authority, containing all things necessary to salvation, and to be submitted to in all matters of faith and practice of life. 3. A belief in the One Savior of mankind, Jesus Christ, who in His person is both fully God and fully man; of one substance with the Father as regards his Godhead, and at the same time of one substance with us as regards his manhood. 4. A belief in the perfect obedience of Christ, His true and actual suffering, His substitionary and atoning death on the cross, and His bodily resurrection and ascension as the only means given for our salvation and reconciliation with God. 5. A belief in faith alone as the only grounds for the merits of Christ being imputed to us for our justification before God (justification by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone). 6. A belief in the consummate return of Jesus Christ in glory to judge the living and the dead, and a belief in the bodily resurrection from the dead of all people and their entrance into either eternal damnation or everlasting blessedness. 7. A belief in the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church as those souls that have been redeemed entirely by the work of Christ and called out of bondage into freedom, out of darkness into light, out of error into truth, out of death into eternal life. 8. A belief that the visible church is best organized under the historic and biblical offices of Bishop, Presbyter, and Deacon; and that the church exists to worship the Triune God and to lift up the Savior Jesus Christ before all people through the faithful preaching and teaching of the Gospel, through prayer, and through the faithful administration of the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion or the Eucharist). 9. A belief in the Historic creeds of the Church as accurate representations of the essence of the Christian faith, and in the Thirty-Nine Articles of the Anglican Church as a coherent and concise expression of Anglican doctrine.

The Office of Social Justice and Advocacy Engagement executes creative leadership initiatives to mobilize Episcopalians on issues of social change, and seeks to build and enhance communities committed to transforming unjust structures in societies, and to accompany and enrich the ministry of Episcopalians working to be catalysts for equality, justice, and transformation within their communities.
