Scene Study class is for the actor who has taken a basic acting foundation class and is ready to take it to the next level. In this class, every actor is guaranteed to work every week on scenes and monologues. They will be taught to apply more advanced acting techniques like script analysis, character development and imagination work. These techniques are designed to help the actor build focus, listening skills, personal substitution and sense memory. Each week students will rehearse their scenes with their scene partner and bring the scene back for feedback, critique and direction. Additionally, students will warm up with Vocal Exercises before performing their S.I.P. (Scene In Progress). Physical, emotional, and intellectual blocks will be explored to help the actor grow as an artist. Personal focus on each actor will aid in maximizing character development, story detail and removing bad habits. This class runs in a six-week session, which will include performances and tapings of the scenes and monologues. Class is limited to 14 students – taught by Jorge Pallo. PREREQUISITE: Actor’s who have passed Nuts & Bolts or have previously studied acting techniques. Jorge was born in New York and raised in Queens, of proud Ecuadorian and Puerto Rican parents. After graduating from NYU’s prestigious TISCH School of The Arts, he moved to Los Angeles and soon after booked a series of credible high-profile roles. He worked on films like Minority Report, War of the Worlds, and Lions for Lambs. He most recently appeared as, Brian, in the highly anticipated sequel Insidious: Chapter 2. Jorge’s television episodic work includes recurring appearances on Resurrection Blvd., The Shield, The Unit, 24, Sons of Anarchy and of course his most notable appearance would be as series regular, Marc Molina, in several episodes of The Secret Life of The American Teenager. He most recently appeared as the antagonist, Gio, in The List starring Michael Pena. Over the years, Jorge has also been putting his talents to good use as an acting coach for Scott Sedita Acting Studios and various charitable organizations, such as The Inside Out Program (bringing theater arts programs to at risk youth) & The Hollywood Heart Foundation (bringing theater arts programs to children affected by HIV and AIDS). His compassionate and imaginative teaching methods have helped guide some of the young Hollywood talent currently working today. The Count of Monte Cristo: The Musical
Distance: 0.5 mi Competitive Analysis
6201 Santa Monica Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90038

On a long summer night nearly ten years ago, a fourteen year-old girl picked up a book from her local library: the one place in town she knew she could always escape to. Already tackling many of the greats, she stumbled upon a book that would forever change her life: Alexandre Dumas' "The Count of Monte Cristo." With its motifs of love, loss, and agony coupled by an undeniable thirst for revenge, these words written nearly two hundred years ago moved her into action. She was undeniably compelled to tell this story through her greatest passion: a musical. For me, this book is beyond a well-written piece of literature. It paralleled my teenage life greatly and helped me cope with the faults of the human condition. I've read over six versions of this novel, including one in French, and have already dedicated 10 years of my life towards making this vision a reality. Now, with my fantastic composer, Matt Dahan, at my side, this brewing creation is finally ready to unfold. With reckless abandon, I followed the Alexandre's words of wisdom to make this dream come true: all that I could do was wait and hope.
