Established in 2008 by Paul Booth, Last Rites has become a premiere gallery for contemporary surrealism and a haven for artists who are not afraid of exploring and dissecting every aspect of the human condition to investigate the invisible, the unintelligible and the inexplicable with a focus on the most recondite twists and turns of reality. The gallery strives to display a showcase of thought-provoking art imbued with references to the dreamlike landscapes and ambiguous feelings originated from an intimate, philosophical contemplation of the self. Last Rites invites the observer to reflect inward and abandon himself to a conscious perception of what the innermost recesses of the mind can reveal and produce under the urge to see beyond our apparent limits. The gallery program is mainly focused on figurative paintings and sculptures featured by an unconventional interpretation of the human existence that seems to escape any definition of what is real, unreal or unknown. Our exhibition schedule rotates monthly, so there is always something new and obscure on display. Every exhibition is celebrated with an opening reception that allows the viewers to interact with both artworks and artists. Founded in 2008 in New York City’s Chelsea Arts District, Joshua Liner Gallery presents an exciting roster of established and emerging artists from North America, Asia, and Europe. These fresh voices engage with the issues of today—globalism, new technology, politics, contemporary urban society, the environment—yet in dynamic dialogue with the histories and aesthetics of the past. Gallery artists reveal disparate influences but all share an affinity for pushing the boundaries of discipline and presentation. Joshua Liner Gallery represents the leading edge of contemporary art practices—new media, mixed-media sculpture, and collective models of production—as well as a focused program of contemporary easel painting. Above all, gallery artists reflect the cultural crosscurrents and decentralized reality of artmaking today.
EFA Project Space is a 3,000 square foot exhibition space that resides in the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts building in Midtown Manhattan. The ultimate goal of the program is to generate a cumulative and an ever-adapting platform for considering diverse creative practices (from performance to installation, to new media, to craft, to discursive projects, to street art, to ephemera) on an equal plane. We present five critical contemporary exhibitions per season in collaboration with a diverse range of curators, cultural organizations, collectives, and artists—continually reaching out to the individuals and groups that shape culture today. In order to provide a dynamic and accessible exchange with the content and its creators, we host a multitude of seminars, workshops, performances, residencies, brain-storming sessions and socially interactive events. We do not stand by a strict agenda, but rather we propose one that is fluid and open about the many layers and approaches possible for compelling artistic expression, aiming for content that, without pretense, allows for social, intellectual, poetic, and political engagement with society.

Our primary concerns is to nurture and push our artists into new opportunities while creating a dialogue with our artist and collector base. In addition, ArtNowNY educates our community by introducing them to local and global artistic movements. We believe that everyone is a collector at heart, and, as a result, we provide an array of artistic works to meet novice to advance collector needs.

In 1974 painters and print-makers founded Atlantic Gallery in Brooklyn as an artists' cooperative. In 1979 Atlantic Gallery migrated to SoHo, and in 2007 to Chelsea, having added photographers and sculptors to its community of emerging and established artists. 2012 saw Atlantic Gallery move further west to the Landmark Arts Building at 548 West 28th Street, close to a stairway to the High Line. The historic building, which also has an entrance at 547 West 27th Street, is home to more than two dozen art galleries. Born from the energy of ’70’s New York art scene, Atlantic Gallery exhibitions continue to focus on innovation and excellence. As an organization of independent artists, Atlantic Gallery is committed to supporting creative freedom and promoting professionalism.

Theatre Row is located in Midtown Manhattan between Ninth and Dyer Avenues. The name comes from the numerous Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway theatres that line the south side of the street. In the 1970s, it was an infamous area of brothels and peepshows, but a campaign to clean up the street was launched. Today, it is dominated by a large complex housing six small theatres: the Beckett, the Acorn, the Clurman, the Kirk, the Lion and the Studio Theatre. It is currently home to several resident theatre companies including: The Actors Company Theatre, Alchemy, Keen Company, United Solo Festival, Sam French Festival, Resonance Ensemble, Shakespeare NYC, Newsicle, Naked Boys Singing and Theater Breaking Through Barriers to name a few. Theatre Row also operates 6 newly renovated underground urban rehearsal studios. Fantastic spaces for Dance, Rehearsal, classes, and meetings. Studio location and access is exceptionally private while still being easily accessible. For non ticketing information, call: 212-747-2442
