Home to the National Western Stock Show, it's the place to bring the entire family to see events as they're meant to be seen - up close! We regularly host a variety of concerts, ice skating events, truck and auto shows, cheerleading competitions, Native American pow-wows and more. Owned by the people of the City and County of Denver, the Coliseum boasts comfortable "people-sized" seating that is close to the action. The furthest seat is only 28 rows from the floor and all seats have unobstructed views. The Denver Coliseum celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2002 and is proud to continue hosting entertainment and special events for the Denver community. NBA Math Hoops targets the most challenged populations of students in middle schools around the United States. We harness the competitive fun of a game in order to develop students' proficiency in arithmetic, decision-making, and pattern identification. By providing this experience within the culturally relevant context of basketball and the NBA, we help to build students’ appreciation for the real world application of mathematics. We envision a point when all U.S. students have a solid foundation in math skills, regardless of race or socioeconomic status. With an appreciation and understanding of math, students will have a better chance of graduating from high school, attending college, and ultimately pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. By building sustainable NBA Math Hoops communities in schools, districts, and cities, we will foster the individual and interpersonal skills necessary for students to become passionate, self-directed learners. As a result, students will have the capacity to control their personal and educational narratives.
