We designed Beta to be as environmentally friendly as possible. The Beatport Lounge is 100% green and not just the color. The whole club was designed with this in mind by using sustainable products. Since our grand opening, we’ve made it a point to reduce, reuse, reclaim, recycle and use sustainable materials throughout Beta. We also institute a recycling program for our output by installing recycle centers at major traffic points in the club so that patrons can discard glass, plastic, aluminum and paper products appropriately for our environment. As our slogan states, Beta Nightclub is the definition of “Club Culture Evolving”. At no point in time are we 100% complete, projects are constantly in the works while new ones are being brainstormed. Unlike other venues and nightclubs, we cater to any event’s needs, whether that means installing full LED panel rigs or simply adding over-the-top decorations throughout the club, Beta can exceed your expectations. The 16th Street Mall is a pedestrian and transit mall in Denver, Colorado. The mall, 1.25 miles (2 kilometers) long, runs along 16th Street in downtown Denver, from Wewatta Street (at Union Station) to the intersection of 16th Avenue and Broadway (at Civic Center Station). It is home to over 300 locally owned/chain stores, over 50 restaurants, and the Denver Pavilions.HistoryThe 16th Street Mall opened in 1982, originally from Market Street to Broadway, and was designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, with Henry N. Cobb as design partner, in collaboration with the urban design and landscape architecture firm, OLIN.The mall was extended from Market Street to Wynkoop Street in 2001 and to Union Station in 2002 to coincide with the completion of the Central Platte Valley (CPV) light rail spur. Before 1982, 16th Street was still a shopping and business destination that was home to four major department stores and many office buildings.Currently, the 16th Street Mall serves as a nexus for the major businesses downtown as well as the various tourist attractions that are nearby.Street performingTraditionally, street performing has been very popular on the mall, with many local folk, country, and vocal musicians gaining recognition in pop culture. Other types of performers, such as dancers, actors, impressionists, and comedians have also used the popular location as a prime venue for discovery.
The Ellie Caulkins Opera House, which opened on September 10, 2005, is located in Denver, Colorado as part of the large Denver Performing Arts Complex. It seats 2,225. The Caulkins family pledged $7 million towards the enhancement of the lyric opera house and adjacent public spaces which were constructed inside of the Newton Auditorium.History of the theatreThe Municipal Auditorium, the largest in America except for Madison Square Garden in New York, was completed in time to host the Democratic National Convention in 1908. Mayor Speer and the Chamber of Commerce raised $100,000 to celebrate the July 7 grand opening of the Auditorium with Denver's first national political convention, when William Jennings Bryan was nominated to run for President for the third time.Originally, the building was a multi-purpose structure: it accommodated concerts, operas, theatrical shows, conventions, basketball, auto shows and even circuses, with flags flying from its domes and light bulbs outlining its pediments, cornice, and corners. The proscenium of the original building was designed to be portable so as to create different-sized spaces for different events. When the proscenium was in place, the building was a 3,326 seat theatre with an extraordinarily large back stage area. When the proscenium was raised, increasing the seating capacity to 12,000, the stage and backstage area became large enough to hold circuses and rodeos.For several years in the 1920s and 30s, Music Week was an annual event in Denver. Various communities of the state presented musical programs and most of the performances were in the Auditorium. An opera or operetta was commonly included in the offerings.In 1921, a company of Denver musicians performed Flotow's Martha in May; of special historical significance was the fact that the two performances were broadcast by radio station 9ZAF, the first time ever that a full-length opera was broadcast.
The Brooks Tower is a 42 story residential building in downtown Denver, Colorado, United States. At the time of its construction in 1968, it was the tallest building in Denver, standing 420ft. In 2010, it is the thirteenth-largest building in Denver. It was also Denver's first high-rise residential building. Originally built as an apartment building, Brooks Tower was converted to condominia in the 1990s.Today it provides housing for students attending nearby universities, business people, and families. Located in downtown Denver the location of Brooks Tower provides easy walking access to all accommodations one may need. In addition, a convenience store is open 24/7 to residents and the building has secured entry.
The Denver Performing Arts Complex located in Denver, Colorado, is one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States. The DPAC is a four-block, 12acre site containing ten performance spaces with over 10,000 seats connected by an 80ft tall glass roof. It is home to a theatre company, Broadway touring productions, contemporary dance and ballet, chorales, a symphony orchestra, opera and more.The City and County of Denver’s Theatres and Arenas Division owns and operates the three largest theatres in DPAC, the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, the Buell Theatre and Boettcher Concert Hall. Confluence Park is an urban park encompassing the confluence of Cherry Creek and the South Platte River in Denver's Lower Downtown (LoDo), a bustling district of 19th-century brick warehouses and storefronts that has been redeveloped since the late 1980s.Current usageThe park includes concrete trails often filled with walkers, runners, and bikers. Some grassy areas, river overlooks, and park benches are also available. Two pedestrian bridges cross the South Platte River and Cherry Creek at Confluence Park. The eastern edge of the South Platte in Confluence Park has been transformed into a kayak run, immediately across from R.E.I.'s (Recreational Equipment Inc.) Colorado flagship store. The park is adjacent to a number of new up-scale townhouses, apartments, and loft developments, another park bordering the South Platte downstream, train tracks, and Denver's skatepark.The Platte Valley Trolley originates in Confluence Park, running along the west side of the South Platte River from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, and for all Denver Broncos home games.

Denver Place is an office complex in Denver, Colorado, comprising the North and South Towers, Terraces and the Granite Tower. It is Colorado's largest commercial office property. Denver Place South Tower is the tallest building of the complex. It is 416ft tall, has 34 floors, and was completed in 1981. The Denver Place complex is located in the downtown area of Denver, Colorado and mostly consists of four high-rise buildings spanning two city blocks. The Denver Place North and South Towers take up the southeastern block. They were developed in 1981 by Devco Property Inc. from design by Marvin E. Knedler & Assoc. Architects, P.C. The South Tower is the tallest, reaching 416ft with 34 floors, while the North Tower is 285ft tall with 23 floors. The two towers are elongated hexagons made of silver grey aluminum panels contrasted by dark grey reflective glass. They sit diagonally from one another, connected by a six story terraced building. At street level is a retail mall. The building has won many awards including the 2005 Denver Metro Building Owners And Managers Association Building of the Year Award in the Earth Award category and the Gold LEED-EB Label for its green design.The northwestern block holds the Granite Tower (Denver), built in 1983. Formerly known as the Plaza Tower, this skyscraper stands at 398ft tall with 31 floors. At the north end of this block is the Ritz-Carlton Denver, the city's first and only Ritz Carlton, formerly an Embassy Suites Hotel. The building is 390ft tall and has 38 floors.Both the Granite Tower and the Ritz-Carlton parts of Denver Place were sold. Granite Properties paid $161 million for the Denver Place Plaza Tower at 1099 18th St., which includes the Embassy Suites Hotel, The Apartments at Denver Place and the Athletic Club at Denver Place. However, it simultaneously spun off the hotel, the luxury apartments and the health club to BWAB Real Estate Ventures.
The Paramount Theatre is a concert venue in Denver, Colorado, located on Glenarm Place, near Denver's famous 16th Street Mall. The venue has a seating capacity of 1,870, but is a popular destination for large acts looking for a smaller concert setting. With spelling as Paramount Theater, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.HistoryThe Paramount opened in 1930 as a movie theatre, part of the Paramount-Publix Theatre Circuit, the exhibition arm of Paramount Pictures. The theatre itself was designed by the Chicago architectural firm of Rapp and Rapp, with decorations by designer Vincent Mondo, murals by Louis Grell of Chicago. The original main entry to the theatre was at 519 16th Street, where an entrance lobby was cut through an existing commercial and office building.The three story office and commercial building featuring what was then the theatre's secondary entrance on Glenarm Place, now the main entrance, was designed by the local architect Temple H. Buell. Buell's design is a modernized, art deco interpretation of the Gothic style, executed largely in cast concrete and white terra cotta.For several decades the Paramount enjoyed success as one of the premier movie houses in the Rocky Mountain region. Republic Plaza is a skyscraper in Denver, Colorado. Rising 714 feet (218 m), the building currently stands as the tallest building in the city of Denver and the entire Rocky Mountain region of the United States. It was built in 1984, and contains 56 floors, the majority of which are used as office space. Republic Plaza currently stands as the 109th-tallest building in the United States.Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and built of reinforced concrete clad in Sardinian granite, Republic Plaza includes 1200000sqft of office space, and three retail levels containing shops, restaurants, and service businesses. The building has a 3-story marble lobby that features a quarterly "Art in Public Places" program of Colorado and regional artists.On October 27, 2007, the building's top 20 stories were lit in purple with giant white letters "C" and "R" to celebrate the Colorado Rockies' World Series debut.The Republic Plaza was built by PCL Construction Services, Inc.The Republic Plaza is the home to the American Lung Association in Colorado's Anthem Fight for Air Climb. Mid-century neon signs are in danger of disappearing all over the city of Denver. An example of why this is the case is exemplified in the story of Denver's main street: Colfax Avenue. During the 1950's, Colfax Avenue was better known to many westward travelers as Route 40. As these travelers ventured toward their mountain destinations, they were greeted by the bright neon signs of the city. These neon signs were made with great craftmanship and artistry and were designed to grab the attention of the multitudes of motorists traveling the strip. The motels along Colfax that many consider run-down and seedy today were popular tourist stops in the heyday of Colfax. After the opening of Interstate 70, which allowed travelers to completely bypass Colfax, the once-vibrant businesses along the street began to experience a decline. Today, the neon signs that survive are a reminder of an important era in the history of Colfax. These still-standing signs are in danger of disappearing for a variety of reasons. Reurbanization is bringing an influx of residents back into the neighborhoods along Colfax and leading to a demand for new development. The old restaurants, bars, and motels on Colfax as well as the signs that are attached to them are quickly becoming prime targets for development. In addition, many of these aging signs are in need of repair. It is often more cost effective for these businesses to replace their iconic neon signs with cheaper, lower-quality versions. In light of several recent examples of mid-century signs disappearing from the landscape, we at Save the Signs are doing what we can to encourage everyone to appreciate these signs as works of art that are worth saving.
The Sherman Street Event Center is a historic building in the North Capitol Hill neighborhood of downtown Denver.The Moorish inspired building was constructed in 1907, as a meeting hall for the El Jabel chapter of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine . It has never been a true mosque in the Islamic sense. In 1924, having outgrown the building, the Shriners sold it to the Scottish Rite Masons, who renamed it. In 1995, the Scottish Rite sold the building to Eulipions, Inc. who converted it into a catering and events facility.

Located in Denver, the Court consists of a Chief Justice and six Associate Justices.Powers and dutiesAppellate jurisdictionThe Court principally handles certiorari petitions in cases decided on appeal by the Colorado Court of Appeals in appeals from courts of general jurisdiction, and from appellate decisions of courts of general jurisdiction in appeals from courts of inferior jurisdiction. In addition, the Colorado Supreme Court has jurisdiction over direct appeals in cases where a trial court finds a law unconstitutional, in death penalty cases, in water law cases, in certain election cases, in interlocutory appeals (i.e., appeals in the middle of a case) in certain matters of exceptional importance for which an ordinary appeal is not a sufficient remedy, and in certain other cases.Original jurisdiction and supervisory powersThe Colorado Supreme Court also has original jurisdiction over attorney discipline proceedings, over advisory questions presented by the state legislature or the state attorney general, and questions referred to it by the federal courts. The Colorado State Capitol Building, located at 200 East Colfax Avenue in Denver, Colorado, is the home of the Colorado General Assembly and the offices of the Governor of Colorado and Lieutenant Governor of Colorado. The building is intentionally reminiscent of the United States Capitol. Designed by Elijah E. Myers, it was constructed in the 1890s from Colorado white granite, and opened for use in November 1894. The distinctive gold dome consists of real gold leaf, first added in 1908, commemorating the Colorado Gold Rush. The building is part of Denver's Civic Center area. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Civic Center Historic District in 1974, and became part of the Denver Civic Center National Historic Landmark District in 2012.Serving as the beginning of the Capitol Hill district, the historic building sits slightly higher than the rest of downtown Denver. The main entrance hall is open 180 feet (55 m) to the top of the dome, about the height of an 18-story building. Additionally, the official elevation of Denver is measured outside the west entrance to the building, where the fifteenth step is engraved with the words "One Mile Above Sea Level." From this step, at 5280ft, the sun can be seen setting behind the Rocky Mountains. A second mile high marker was set in the 18th step in 1969 when Colorado State University students resurveyed the elevation. In 2003, a more accurate measurement was made with modern means, and the 13th step was identified as being one mile (1.6 km) high, where a 3rd marker was installed.
