Located in the historic Mission District of San Francisco, the ornate and stately Victoria Theatre, seats 480. The theatre, built in 1908 as a vaudeville house, is now a city landmark and the oldest operating theatre in San Francisco. Originally called Brown's Opera House, it was operated as a vaudeville showcase by the ancestors of two California governors. The theatre drew crowds who delighted in observing the grand performances of international stars who came to San Francisco. As cinema began to displace live on-stage entertainment, the character of the Victoria Theatre began to change. In the 1930's, it became a motion picture house offering dishware door prizes to entice movie goers. In the 1950's the Victoria Theatre was renamed El Teatro Victoria, showing Spanish-language films for the growing Latino community in the area. In the 1960's, under the name New Follies, the theatre became a burlesque house and closed in 1976. The Victoria Theatre lay dormant for two years. After a year of reconstruction, the theatre was refurbished from top to bottom and now is restored to its original intent and grandeur. You can see everything here. Locally produced plays such as the San Francisco premier of Hedwig and the Angry Inch which ran for six months, concerts, film festivals (the theatre has video and 35mm with Dolby Pro Logic Surround Sound), musicals, international performing companies and many other kinds of performances. Many personalities have appeared at the theatre through its long and colorful history, including Whoopi Goldberg, Bill Irwin, Donald O'Conner, Michael Moore, Mae "Come up and see me sometime" West, and many others. Several filmmakers have used the site to shoot their films. You can also see the Victoria Theatre in the movies such as, "The Laughing Policeman," starring Walter Matthau made in 1973, Joshua Grannell's film "All About Evil and Marielle Heller's "The Diary of A Teenage Girl."

Amnesia is a cozy, red-lit room in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission District, but that’s the simple description. We like to think of Amnesia as a vessel. A working ship, maybe. Not the prettiest boat in the harbor, but she’s got stories. She’s sees more action in a week than others will see in a lifetime. Her hold is filled with experiences and, despite her name, her memory is strong. She remembers every undulation on the dance floor, every scream, every solo, every laugh and tear, and every shout for encores.

Lisa is a magnificent promoter; her imagination to produce excitement for any event is limitless. I highly respect her talent, and I will be very lucky to work with her again.” - Charo ------------- Lisa was my Publicist and Show Producer for the 2012 DVD taping of my stand up comedy special in San Francisco. Not only did she source the beautiful theater, she liaised with them on my behalf to secure the venue, and organized all pre-show press interviews and newspaper articles. She did a spectacular job, so much so, I credit her for helping me completely sell out the theater, making my taping a roaring success. I would not hesitate to work with her again, and I'm actually loathe to write this reference, as I want to keep her for myself! - Gina Yashere, comedian ------------- "I hired Lisa Geduldig to help promote the West Coast premiere of an American opera. Her doggedness and professionalism with the media resulted in outstanding local and national press. I would highly recommend and hope to work with her again." - Michael Colbruno, opera producer ------------- “Lisa Geduldig did PR for Bay Area National Latino AIDS Awareness Day, and she did an excellent job. She secured pre and post-event press coverage in both the Spanish and English-speaking press. We were able to gain the visibility we needed to help gain community awareness of HIV/AIDS issues impacting Latinos/Latinas in the area. I'd recommend her PR services; she is not only efficient but also culturally competent to respond to the needs of the Latino community.”
