The 5th annual Math Prize for Girls contest took place on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA. The goal is to inspire more young women to become the mathematical leaders of tomorrow. Rational Music Studios offers an integrated approach to learning bringing together reading skills, phrasing, theory, music appreciation, and music history. This makes for a learning process that is both effective and enjoyable.
Talking Tots is a “parent-and-me” course that promotes speech, language, and social communication development through play. The course is designed for toddlers between the ages of 13 months and 36 months. Classes are taught by licensed speech-language pathologists, who discuss and demonstrate proven techniques and provide support while parents and caregivers practice (and play) with their toddlers. What to expect: Each class is taught by a certified speech language pathologist. Every week, each class will have a specific theme/topic, word, sound and sign of the day. There will be songs, a mini lesson and various activities all related to the topic to help stimulate more language, introduce basic concepts and encourage longer utterances from the child. Both the activities and songs will include lots of movements and gestures to help improve gross motor skills. In addition, each class will include an arts and craft project to encourage creativity and improve fine motor skills.

Welcome music lovers! I am a passionate teacher (15+ years), singer, and musician who loves sharing the incredible training I was fortunate to receive. As a voice teacher I have unique background and therefore offer something other voice teachers cannot: a broad understanding of many genres, which allows me to offer the student a wider variety of music to explore! I was born to two musicians, and began studying piano and dance at age 5. I went on to complete my degree in classical voice and jazz technique at New England Conservatory in Boston, then moved to New York City and enjoyed a wildly varied career as a pop session singer, writer for TV, and teacher. I have performed on countless recordings and over the years developed a reputation as a dependable singer, musician, composer, and songwriter (I won the USA Songwriting Competition in 1998). I have coached 2 American Idol semi-finalists, and most recently helped a long-time student reach her goal of attending Berklee College of Music! I'm a very proud teacher and truly love to share my love of music with kids of all ages. As a piano teacher I teach students to become independent musicians by teaching them theory, sight reading, and exploring their own creativity. I am here to teach them the language of music so that they can play whatever they choose with total independence! I also teach chart reading and self-accompaniment, as well as help with songwriting issues and arranging! I love all my kids (and adults!), and the relationship I form with each is part of what makes my job so rewarding! I make trust a priority so that they are relaxed and able to have fun.
