The Gallery of Wood Art presents four to six exhibits each year of contemporary pieces by woodturning artists. The diversity of materials, themes and techniques is eye-opening. The gallery's collection of historic turned items and antique lathes provides a nice counterpoint, and the gallery gift store features regional woodturners. The Gallery of Wood Art is sponsored by the American Association of Woodturners, a 13,000 member international nonprofit dedicated to promoting and supporting the art of woodturning. Find out more about the organization at www.woodturner.org. You can see more of our collection on display at St Paul City Hall and Courthouse, 15 Kellogg Blvd. Hours: Tuesday through Friday, 11-4 and Sundays 12-3 or by appointment Admission is free - donations gratefully accepted

For students who are looking for a broader experience of life in America, NOD offers the Academic Year Program, either 5 months (academic semester) or 10 months (academic year) in duration. Students live in a host family and attend an American high school. Participating in a long-term academic program means total immersion in American life, and as such, it is an ideal way to achieve proficiency in the English language as well as gain a complete cross-cultural experience involving American home life and school. Students stay in communities across the United States with host families who are carefully chosen and screened by NOD representatives. These families are volunteers and agree to welcome the students into their lives as a member of their family. They provide room and board as well as the care and support necessary for students as they learn and adjust to life in the U.S. Students have the opportunity to take part in family activities and are encouraged to make the most of the opportunity to learn about everyday life in America from their host family.

Women in Turning is a virtual chapter of the American Association of Woodturners. We had our start at the 2014 AAW Symposium in Phoenix, AZ when Betty Scarpino organized a meeting of women to see if there was interest in forming a group focused on the support of women woodturners.

Genesys Works is a non-profit organization dedicated to building bridges between economically-disadvantaged high school students, businesses seeking technology-proficient workers, and an inner-city public education system struggling to produce high-quality, market-ready graduates. Genesys Works - Twin Cities was created in 2008 to transform the lives of minority and low-income youth in Minneapolis and St. Paul while serving the business needs of the Twin Cities corporate community. We train high school students in information technology and professional and communication skills and place them in paid year-long internships during their senior year in high school. Students intern at major Twin Cities corporate employers like Medtronic, 3M, Ecolab, and Target. We also prepare our students for successful futures through our Career and College Connections Program where we offer personalized college consulting for all students.
