The temple was inaugurated on the current eight acres of beautiful wooded site in Chantilly, Virginia in March 2000. Mandir is a Hindu temple marvelously representing Jain and Buddhist faiths also For the Hindu community of the DC area, Rajdhani Mandir is an oasis. It is a place where people come to be with God, to relax, to spend some time away from the interstates and the shopping malls. They get all that in the serene, wooded surroundings of the Mandir, and its vast, well-lighted, and quiet prayer hall. People come to Rajdhani Mandir to quench their spiritual thirst. The Mandir is committed to fulfilling the religious needs of all members of the Hindu/Jain community in the area. A full spectrum of poojas, abhiskekams are scheduled over the weekend. Please see the regularly scheduled pooja and weekend schedule for more details. The Mandir celebrates all major Hindu festivals, including Holi, Janmashtami, Diwali, Shivratri, and Navratri. To make it the community focal point that people want it to be, the Mandir sponsors various cultural programs with reputed artists. In the past, programs have included bhajan concerts, Hindustani and Carnatic classical music concerts, and Indian dances. A children’s cultural program is part of every festival celebration. It gives the children an opportunity to show off their talent and to mingle with other kids as well. To maintain the importance and impact of our religion and cultural heritage on the future generation, the Mandir holds religion classes every Sunday for children.

- Bala Vihar* The Bala Vihar (BV) program offers weekly classes to provide children a spiritual and cultural orientation in their formative school years (Pre K to 12). The classes are organized by age groups, start and end with Sanskrit prayers, and include chanting, bhajans, stories of devotion and morals, interactive discussions, arts and crafts and creative games. They are of approximately 90 minutes duration including the common Assembly time, are held during the regular school year and are based on specially designed curriculum. - Language and Shloka* For children attending weekly Bala Vihar classes, Language and Shloka classes are offered, on an optional basis, for enrichment. Language: Classes currently offered include Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi and Sanskrit. Emphasis is on spoken language to enable the children to better communicate and build relationships with members of their extended family. Language classes offered may vary based on demand at a local chapter and the availability of volunteer teachers. Shloka: In the Shloka class, which is very popular, children are taught prayerful verses to inspire in them devotion to the Supreme. Shloka class children are often invited to recite verses at various CMWRC functions and noteworthy community events. - Gītā Chanting CMWRC has been conducting a very successful annual Gītā Chanting Competition for the past several years for children. The program is open to the public, and now also open to adults and youth. The vision behind the Gītā Chanting program is simple. Chanting introduces one to the verses of the sacred Bhagavad Gītā. This leads one to study the scriptural text, resulting in the gain of the subtle and invaluable knowledge revealed therein. This sacred knowledge translated into action results in inner transformation - Program for Adults and Youth For adults, Chinmaya Mission offers Vedantic education, based on the Bhagavad Gītā and other scriptural texts. Conventional education teaches one how to make a living. Vedantic knowledge teaches one how to live in happiness. During our day‐to‐day life struggles, we often forget that the well‐spring of all joy is within us. This knowledge, and the steps to realize and experience it, is the science of Vedanta. The abiding knowledge of Vedanta rests in the vision of the One Reality, a vision that transcends race, class, creed, gender and nationality. The teachings of Vedanta are profound, yet simple; completely personal, yet universal; and above all, very relevant in today’s world. The learning and application of Vedanta enables not only spiritual development, but personal and professional growth as well. - Bhagavad Gītā Classes* On a weekly basis, while children are attending Bala Vihar classes, Chinmaya Mission trained Acharyas conduct pravachans (lectures) on the Bhagavad Gītā for adults. The Acharyas cover the 18 chapters of this ageless scriptural text comprehensively, discussing in detail two to three verses in each class. The purpose is to inspire the novice spiritual aspirant to sincerely and diligently pursue Vedantic studies and contemplation. Study Groups and Vedanta Classes In addition to the weekly Bhagavad Gītā classes, Chinmaya Mission offers a range of options for spiritual aspirants seeking to pursue additional Vedantic studies. - Study Groups - Inspired by the vision of Vedanta, several small groups of seekers meet locally, on a weekly or bi‐weekly basis, to study selected Vedanta texts. The participants of each study group analyze their selected text in detail through interactive discussions, deepening their understanding. They seek guidance from an Acharya as needed. Vedanta Classes – Aspirants who prefer a pravachan (lecture) format for study, may join one of several Vedanta classes that are conducted by Acharyas or other qualified teachers. Special classes dedicated to women (Devi) and retired seekers (Vaanaprastha) are also available. E-study Vedanta classes are offered by the Chinmaya International Foundation. - Jnana Yajnas and Spiritual Camps In a traditional Vedic yajna, the ritual calls for the offering of oblations into a trough of Fire along with the chanting of Sanskrit mantras. The term “jnana yajna” derives from this picture of a ritual; in a “jnana yajna”, oblations of ignorance are made into the fire of knowledge. Scriptural study and regular contemplation on the import of the teachings heard, kindles the fire of knowledge in a sincere spiritual seeker. On a periodic basis, CMWRC organizes jnana yajnas (series of talks) on various spiritual texts and subjects. These jnana yajnas are conducted either by Acharyas associated with CMWRC or other Chinmaya Mission centers. Chinmaya Mission centers around the world also hold spiritual camps offering intensive residential courses for adults, children or the whole family. - Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (CHYK) CHYK is the global youth wing of Chinmaya Mission, where youth learn to discover their true potential and achieve success. CHYK provides college students and young professionals a spiritual forum for the discussion, exploration, and practice of Vedanta. The CHYK DC chapter has an active calendar of events including socials, discussion groups, community service (seva) and retreats. A number of CHYKs also teach at the local Bala Vihar. A major event for DC CHYKs is the annual CHYK Retreat, which is attended by CHYKs from all over the United Stated and Canada and provides a great opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones. Welcome to Agape Church! Agape Church is a Christ-centered, Bible-based, local church in the Northern Virginia, Greater Washington DC & Greater Baltimore area. Our purpose is to be obedient to God's Word, based on the principles of the New Testament, to continue steadfastly in apostle's doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread and in prayers (Acts 2:42). Agape Church caters to the well being of the total person-body, soul and spirit (I Thessalonians 5:23 and III John 2). It is a family church that ministers to adults, youth and children. There are special activities for the college and career group. The activities and services of Agape Church are open to all who are interested in attending and/or participating. It welcomes people of all walks of life, regardless of color, nationality, language, gender, etc. (Revelation 7:9). Our Vision: The church which is the body of Christ is a living organism and not a mere organization. It is formed by the gathering together of born again believers in a given locality as the "Lord adds to the church such as should be saved." It functions under the headship and lordship of the Lord Jesus Christ as believers gather together steadfastly for worship, breaking of bread, studying the word of God, fellowship and prayers (Acts 2:42) thereby to show forth His fullness, unity, love, wisdom and power. God is after a worshiping community (John 4:23). Therefore sufficient time is allocated for individual worship before the observance of Lord's table every Sunday. Witnessing and gospel outreach activity in surrounding areas is constantly carried out. Our Mission: To witness the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and bring many souls into the kingdom of God. To shepherd and build up the believers in the faith and facilitate their growth in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ through various ministries of the church. To prepare the church for the glorious second appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ. Statement of Faith: We believe in the authority of the Holy Bible, as the complete Word of God. We believe in the Trinity - God's plan of salvation for mankind as planned by God the Father, executed by God the Son by His atoning death on the cross and His resurrection and applied and worked out in the life of the believers by God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the body of Christ the Universal Church composed of all born-again believers all over the world and the local expression of that body in every place where believers meet together for worship and breaking of bread, fellowship and Bible study and prayer. We believe in the equality of the believers in the body of Christ being equally precious as they are redeemed by the precious blood of Christ, being equally important and useful as indwelt by the Holy Spirit to contribute to the building up of the church, the spiritual house and God's holy habitation to show forth His fullness, unity , love, wisdom and power. We believe in the preparation of the Church for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for which the worship is an important part of that preparation. Therefore we encourage individual worship of believers in spirit and in truth around the Lord's table every Sunday, enabling them to declare the preciousness of the Lord as experienced by them. We warn and encourage believers to take part in the Lord's table worthily to be prepared for the glorious appearing of the Lord. This exercise is important as the church is being sanctified and prepared as the holy bride of Christ. We believe in the stewardship of the church in preaching the gospel to all peoples regularly so that souls are saved and added to the church, discipled so that the kingdom of God is built. Every Opportunity to proclaim the Gospel is taken and every believer is encouraged to participate in the various outreach programs. We believe in the autonomy of local churches under the headship and lordship of the Lord Jesus Christ based on the New Testament pattern and functioning according to the principles revealed in the word of God.
