SNIA works closely with elected officials, police and other community leaders to better the quality of life in our neighborhood. Plus, we market the neighborhood to potential residents, through community events.

The Italian American Heritage Corporation is one of the oldest Italian American organization in the United States. It was organized on November 11, 1866 and was incorporated on December 6, 1866 it is composed of many St. Louis Italian-American Organizations, who joined together a number of years ago to ensure that there will always be a Columbus Day Parade. The first parade was organized by the Fratellanza Society in 1867 through the effort of an Italian settlement in downtown St Louis. The parade route started downtown and terminated at the statue of Chistopher Columbus ( donated by Henry Shaw ) in Tower Park. For many years it has been held on " The Hill" . The parade is always the highlight of the Columbus Day celebration by many Italian Organizations to promote the philosophy and culture of their heritage by participating in a Festa after the parade. The Festa is traditionally held in Berra Park.

DEAF Way Interpreting Services provides interpreting services that empower deaf people or people who are hard of hearing to have clear, effective communication in any situation. We are the city site of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church in South County, part of a larger effort to influence the St. Louis region with the gospel. We are Lutheran Christians. We go wherever there is need for love, the love of Christ. So far, we have sent people to Bogota, London, San Diego, Seattle, Minneapolis, South Carolina, Texas and Florida. On a weekly basis we are all sent across St. Louis, from South City to Soulard, from the West End to West County, from SLU to Wash U. We pray that the gospel of Jesus continues to go forth, as more people are loved and more people are sent.

The iconic cities of the world have defining characteristics that are instantly recognizable. Dense urban cores, vibrant arts and diverse cultural communities, and cheap and efficient public transportation are features which keep cities like New York, Chicago, and London on the map. That vibrancy one feels, the humming electricity in the air when wandering the streets of a cosmopolitan city, is the Human Current. We raise the voltage of the Human Current through people-centric design dedicated to improving access to resources in a few key areas: education, sustainability, and transit. Though we will also be selling some home goods and other retail products, our community building practice - Citizen Carpentry - will hold classes through Dabble and offer discounts to Cowry Collective Timebanking members. We are dedicated to promoting alternative economic models and decentralizing production away from big box stores. Sourcing materials locally as well as upcycling reduces transportation costs and keeps material out of landfills, which helps to reduce our carbon footprint.

The “Geographic Area” of the Corporation is the area enclosed by South Grand Avenue on the East, South Kingshighway Boulevard on the West, Arsenal Street on the North, and Chippewa Street on the South. The purpose and objectives of the Corporation are: A. To inform and facilitate communication among residents of the Geographic Area; B. To create a welcoming place for visitors; C. We have regular science labs during school year on Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. We have astronomy, chemistry, agriscience, engineering, computer science, neuroscience, and entrepreneurship components in our program that engage teens in critical thinking about science and fun scientific learning. During summer time, we don't have regular components but we do have Summer Time Science that serves the same purpose as regular school year activities while adds to more insights of knowledge and provides more internship opportunities for the teens.

By considering all areas of operations, the GDA puts strong emphasis on reducing, recycling and composting restaurant waste as well as sourcing sustainable food, to-go ware and cleaning supplies.

American Music Abroad is a cultural diplomacy program that brings together American musicians with global audiences. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is run by American Voices. Each year AMA selects approximately 10 ensembles to embark on overseas tours. While on these tours musicians participate in concerts, workshops, educational programs and more. My First 5k! is a concept born from my first 5k. When I ran my first 5k I trained for nearly six months to accomplish my goal. I went from sedentary to running a full 5k which I though was an unattainable goal for myself. The feeling of pride that I had when I crossed the finish line is indescribable and my hope with My First 5k! is that we can help others achieve the same feeling in a safe and encouraging environment, running their first 5k with a team of others who are feeling the exact same pride and struggle that they are, to make it through their very first race. Racers will be able to sign up as a first 5ker or a motivational runner. First 5kers don’t always travel their first 5k journey alone and we want them to be able to experience it with whoever their motivational figure is. First 5kers will be encouraged to wear yellow so everyone can see them, cheer them on along the way, motivate them throughout the race and give them the support they need to finish their first race strong. Not only will spectators and motivators be able to spot the first 5kers in their yellow shirts, first 5kers will be able to spot each other!
