CAM provides food, clothing, rental assistance, utility assistance, prescription medication assistance, identification recovery (ID's and birth certificates), sack lunches for the homeless, a free mail box, and referrals. This work is done through donations of food and clothing, volunteers (over 200 keep the operation going) and financial assitance.
90% of all men and women relapse within the first 90 days of leaving treatment or detox. Without a positive, safe and encouraging environment in which to live these newly recovering individuals hardly stand a chance. And rather than following the program of recovery they inevitably fall back into their old patterns and end up addicted and on the street again. Every day, we help heal the devastating effects of addiction by providing structured residential and assistance programs that reduce & prevent homelessness, unemployment, poverty and crime caused by substance abuse.
We provide full service psychological care and assessments for our returning Veterans and those applying for Social Security or VA Disability income.
We offer a Masters in Counseling with a school or community emphasis as well as a PhD program for Counselor Education and Supervision. Our program recently won the 2012 Association for Counselor Education and Supervision Robert E. Frank Outstanding Program Award at the American Counselor Education & Supervision Conference this year.
About Therapy with Rocketa Naron of Generating Possibility: My first love was physics. On a university tour, I had the opportunity to talk with a physics professor. During that talk we discussed a difference in ideas in which I realized he argued using his understanding of the current known laws of physics and I argued using my understanding of human creativity and determination. I knew at that moment physics would not be the right field for me. I needed to be in a field that allowed me to help others harness their creativity and determination to create new solutions. I then earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Rutgers University in New Jersey then Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from St Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. I consider myself a collaborative therapist as it allows me the freedom to research and question with my client rather than for them. I like for therapy with me to be pretty laid back, more like a conversation than work or a lecture. I look forward to talking with you soon.
It's not like I was trying to be sexy but I had to get fit because I had to be able to do stunts. Also I wanted that, if Bond took his clothes off, he looked like a man who did what he did, which was kill people for a living. I thought the only way to do that was to work out and get fit and buff and get physically into shape. - Daniel Craig
