In 1948, the first In-N-Out Burger was founded by Harry and Esther Snyder in Baldwin Park. In that era, it was common to see carhops serving customers in their cars. Harry had the unique idea of a drive-thru hamburger stand where customers could order through a two-way speaker box. His idea caught on and California's first drive-thru hamburger stand was born. In-N-Out Burger has been serving the highest quality burgers, fries and shakes ever since.

Steak ‘n Shake was founded in February, 1934 in Normal, Illinois. Gus Belt, Steak ‘n Shake’s founder, pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milk shakes. Since we opened our first restaurant in Boardman, OH, in 1964, we’ve been serving quality meats on handcrafted sandwiches. We call this transformation from a cut of meat to a delicious sandwich “Meatcraft™”, and our dedication to Meatcraft™ informs every decision we make. From the sandwiches we serve to our curly fries, shakes and sides, everything we do is in service to the meats. It’s why we get to work every morning at 8 a.m. even though we don't open until 11.
