Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law is a private American law school in Chicago, Illinois. Located in the North Side's Streeterville, it is one of the twelve constituent schools of Northwestern University. The law school was founded in 1859 as the Union College of Law of the Old University of Chicago. The first law school established in Chicago, it became jointly controlled by Northwestern University in 1873 and fully incorporated into Northwestern in 1891. Northwestern Law is a member of the "T-14" law schools, a prestigious group of 14 schools that enjoy national recognition. Loyola University Chicago School of Law is the law school of the Loyola University Chicago, in Illinois. Established in 1909, by the Society of Jesus, the Roman Catholic order of the Jesuits, the School of Law is located in downtown Chicago. Loyola University Chicago School of Law offers degrees and combined degree programs, including the Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.). Loyola University Chicago and its Water Tower campus also holds art exhibitions and other cultural events.Admission to Loyola is somewhat competitive. The school has a 54% acceptance rate. The Fall 2015 entering class had a GPA range of 25th% = 3.07, 50th% = 3.34, 75th% = 3.55, and a LSAT range of 25th% = 155, 50th% = 158, 75th% = 160. The July 2015 Illinois Bar Exam pass rate for first-time test takers was 80%. The US News Rankings 2016 ranked Loyola 72nd out of 205 ABA approved law schools.According to Loyola's 2015 ABA-required disclosures, 50.9% of the Class of 2015 obtained full-time, long-term, bar passage required employment ten months after graduation.AcademicsThere are fourteen major degree programs offered at the School of Law: doctor of jurisprudence, master of laws in either business law, child and family law, health law or tax law. Students may pursue a master of jurisprudence in either business law, child and family law or health law. There are two major doctoral degrees: doctor of juridical sciences in health law and policy which is the highest degree any attorney may obtain in the United States and the doctor of laws . Dual degree programs are offered with the Loyola University Chicago School of Social Work, Department of Political Science, Graduate School of Education and the Graduate School of Business .
The Loyola University Museum of Art, which opened in the fall of 2005, is unique among Chicago's many museums for mounting exhibits that explore the spiritual in art from all cultures, faiths, and eras. LUMA is located on Loyola University Chicago's Water Tower Campus in downtown Chicago, at 820 North Michigan Ave.LUMA's permanent collection comprises the Martin D'Arcy Collection of medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque art and objects ranging in date from 1150 to 1800. Established in 1969 by Donald Rowe, S.J., the collection contains over 300 pieces. It was named after British humanist and Jesuit theologian Martin D'Arcy, S.J., who amassed an art collection at Campion Hall, Oxford University, in England. The collection was formerly located in the E.M. Cudahy Memorial Library on Loyola's Lake Shore Campus, in Rogers Park, Chicago.
