In addition to our menu, our intent is to integrate our restaurants with the historical significance of each community in which we operate by creating a nostalgic atmosphere that reflects the local community's history and heritage. Our image is that of what you used to get in the good 'ol days. The menu alone is enough to get you out of bed in the morning. It offers a wide array of choices including omelets, pancakes, and breakfast burritos to die for. Breakfast is served all day! Don't forget about lunch and dinner! According to the restaurant's chef, it's just a generic Mexican salsa recipe. Key word here is Mexican. Instead of the mild, bland salsa you find at most gabacho-friendly Mexican joints, which tastes like a combination of tomatoes and water, this stuff has spice. And it's made fresh every day from ripe tomatoes, onions and a hefty dose of arbole, also known as dried red peppers. Calamar also serves fantastic guacamole and a plethora of leviathan-sized seafood dishes.
We char-grill fresh ground beef to make our Habit Charburgers. We also grill up fresh albacore, marinated tri-tip & chicken sandwiches and offer salads, shakes, crispy fries & onion rings.

Sixteen family owned Polly's Pies Restaurants and fourteen Kentucky Fried Chicken® franchises in Southern California. The two owners... Are the Sheldrake brothers, Don & Eddie, who grew up in Los Angeles. Both went to Washington High School in L.A. Don went to Harbor Community College and Fresno State and Eddie used crib notes to get through UCLA. We are indeed grateful to our many wonderful team members, to all our loyal guests, and to all the people we've counted on for their expertise, friendship and talent. Without their help over the years, we could not have succeeded in this challenging and stimulating business.
