The Cotton Mill Studios located in the River Arts District of Asheville, NC has Eight Studios filled with work in a variety of mediums.The hours for each Studio are varied,but most artists strive to be open from tuesday through saturday from 11:00am to 4:00pm.To get a better idea of who is open and at what time,please message or call each artist for their hours of operation.
Aerial Space is a studio dedicated to the promotion and education of all forms of expressive movement and art. Trapeze, Lyra, Silks, Aerial Dance, Yoga, Acrobalance and ... just good clean fun. Our goal is to contribute to the Asheville community by offering both adults and children an outlet for play, self-expression and exercise. We offer a variety of classes for all ages and skill levels from Aerial Kids to Gentle Aerial Yoga. We think everyone should be able to run away and join the circus, if only for an hour.

Located in West Asheville at 735 Haywood Road Suite B, the Sound Post offers individual and group instruction in Southern Appalachian traditional music. Current group classes are Intro to Jamming, Old-Time Singing, and Old-Time Country Guitar and Bass Rhythm. Private lessons available for fiddle, mandolin, dobro, guitar, bass, banjo and singing. Rates: Private lessons $25/30 minutes, $35/45 minutes and $45/1 hour. Group classes are $10-$15 for 60-90 minutes. She holds a Masters in Music Education from UNC-Greensboro, and has been a member of several popular regional bands: The Freight Hoppers, Vipers Dream, The Sweet Talkers, and The Swayback Sisters. Cary has a special interest in the ballad singers of Madison County, using their full voice vocal technique as a model for her teaching. As a bass and guitar player, Cary teaches the roots of old-time and country, as well as more advanced walking styles as used in blues and early jazz standards. Her unique approach blends the traditional way of learning by ear with classical music theory and practice techniques. Jesse Langlais Jesse has played three finger bluegrass banjo for more than 10 years and has played professionally for the past five. He is versed in several styles of music helping you focus on your area of interest. His method of teaching is to use tablature as a guide but focus in on training the ear. He currently performs with Town Mountain. Natalya Weinstein Natalya is an accomplished fiddler focusing on bluegrass and old-time fiddle. She has over 10 years of teaching experience and has taught at the Swannanoa Gathering as well as as the Mars Hill Bluegrass Camp. Ben interprets and channels without boundries. His visionary talent and abilities allow him to transform blank canvases into a strong visual statement, providing his audience with an overall sense of tranquility and sublime excitement. His paintings are of exquisite composition; sometimes Classical in form, sometimes wildly Romantic. Ben's medium is Oil painting, mainly used and applied by Palette Knife, with little to no brush work. Ben and his partner, Rob, are also available for Garden Design and Consultation. The Squeaky Wheel is a ceramic art collective located at the Hatchery Studios in the River Arts District. We have 20 members with varied backgrounds in clay, creating a very diverse and creative space. We just opened our new gallery, as of May 2013, and are excited to have the ability to display a greater amount of our wares for sale. We welcome ceramic artists of all levels to join our community, however, currently we are at capacity and accepting names to our waiting list.
