Skyhawk is a Screamin' Swing built by S&S Worldwide at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. It is located in Frontiertown, next to Snake River Falls. It opened on May 6, 2006, the beginning of Cedar Point's 137th season. A similar ride, Xtreme Swing, opened at Valleyfair the same year.SpecificationsSkyhawk is a Screamin' Swing type ride built by S&S Worldwide. The structure itself is 103ft tall at its highest point, the equivalent height of a ten-story building, making it the world's largest swinging thrill ride. It consists of two swinging arms, both 84ft tall, seating 20 across and 20 back to back (40 total). At full swing, the ends of the arms approach 125ft high off the ground—as high as a twelve-story building—and achieve a maximum velocity of 65 miles-per-hour—faster than most wooden roller coasters. The ride lasts about one minute, and can accommodate 800 passengers per hour. Riders must be or taller. Riders are restrained by a lap bar.Incidents On July 28, 2014, a cable supporting one of the carriages on the pendulum snapped injuring a mother and her daughter. The mother was struck in the head by the cable and was treated at a local hospital, later diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. Her daughter was treated on the scene, and shortly released. Skyhawk reopened on August 1, 2014.
maXair is a Huss Park Attractions Giant Frisbee ride at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, United States. It is only one of two Giant Frisbees in the United States, the other being Delirium at Kings Island. It is located near Troika and Kiddy Kingdom.RideThe ride swings in a pendulum motion while rotating clockwise. At the peak, riders reach a height of 140ft above the ground although the structure of the ride is only 84ft tall. The pendulum motion propels riders back and forth at at an arc of 120 degrees.
Millennium Force is a steel roller coaster built by Intamin at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio, United States. It was the fourteenth roller coaster to be built at the park since Blue Streak opened in 1964. Upon completion in 2000, Millennium Force broke six world records and was the world's first Giga Coaster, a roller coaster that exceeds 300ft in height. It was not the tallest and fastest ride on earth when it opened: the Tower of Terror ll opened in 1997 at 377 feet tall and 100 mph and Superman: The Escape, opened in 1996, was 415 feet tall and 100 mph. The ride is also the third-longest roller coaster in North America after The Beast at Kings Island and Fury 325 at Carowinds. It was the first roller coaster to use a cable lift system rather than a traditional chain lift. The coaster has a 310ft, 45-degree lift hill with a 300ft drop and features two tunnels, three overbanked turns, and four hills. It has a top speed of 93mph.Since its debut, Millennium Force has been voted the number one steel roller coaster ten times in Amusement Today's Golden Ticket Awards. Its lowest ranking in the poll has been two, a position that it has swapped with Superman the Ride (formerly Bizarro) numerous times since 2001, and in 2016, with Fury 325. Although Millennium Force has been surpassed in height and speed, it remains one of the tallest and fastest in the world.
