St. Raphael is one of the last parishes to be founded within the city limits of St. Louis. It was founded in June of 1950 at the request of Archbishop Joseph E. Ritter to Father Arthur Behrman. On August 15, 1951, Father Behrman placed the cornerstone to what became a combination church and school at 6000 Jamieson Avenue. The first graduating class was in 1952. In October of 1966, the cornerstone was laid for construction of a permanent church and rectory on Bishops Place. In 2003, a new addition to the school was built adding a state of the art science lab and computer lab. In 2010, the Saint Raphael Preschool opened to better meet the needs of our growing Parish and School.
Our goal at Christy Park Montessori is to provide an early learning experience in accordance with the Montessori philosophy. Our program is designed for children ages two through five. The Montessori philosophy is based on the whole child and his or her total development. Emphasis is placed on the child's physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.

Mallinckrodt Academy offers a challenging child-centered, intellectual curriculum. High expectations are set for students who have tested and been recognized as gifted students. Mallinckrodt Academy serves as one of two certified gifted public elementary schools offered by St. Louis Public Schools. Mallinckrodt is growing into a full-time gifted curriculum elementary school one grade level and one year at a time. This year, the 4th grade class is split with one gifted education and one general education class. Students have structured learning along with instruction in computer technology, library studies, vocal music, art, physical education, and language arts. We are proud of our "Open-Door" policy and the high level of interaction between staff and parents.
St. Stephen ECD & Preschool is the only preschool designed specifically for children with food allergies. We provide a safe and secure environment free from trigger foods known to cause allergic reactions. We also utilize a multi-filtration air system on the school premises. Our school's atmosphere allows for children between the ages of 2 1/2 to 5 to learn in an environment that is beneficial to all.
Our preschool program provides a loving, Christian atmosphere and age-appropriate experiences to enable the children to grow emotionally, socially, mentally and physically.
