Central Gallery was built with the mission of creating a multi-use contemporary arts & performance venue in downtown Bangor. Central Gallery came to fruition after members of the board targeted a longtime vacant space. Phase I of the project began in March 2014 and was completed entirely with funds through fundraising efforts. Located in the heart of downtown Bangor’s arts district at 89 Central Street, this space features at least 12 artists per year through a series of 3 week exhibits, all opening with a mixer on the first Saturday of each month. In addition to opening receptions, Central Gallery hosts artist talks, workshops, musicians, and other creative & educational events throughout the year. Opening Mixers Gallery Openings and Mixers occur on the first Saturday of each month. Phase II of renovation is targeted for Fall 2016, which will double the Gallery size and widen the scope of Launchpad's outreach, education & programming.
