William E. Rosenfeld, MD, Director, and Susan M. Lippmann, MD remain the epileptologists. Michael Polinsky, MD, neurosurgeon, will continue to provide epilepsy surgery for our patients at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. We will continue to provide both inpatient and outpatient epilepsy services including video EEG monitoring; monitoring to evaluate if patients are having physiological seizures versus non-epileptic episodes; seizure surgery-including temporal lobectomies, topectomies, subdural grids, strips, and implanted devices; and drug study protocols. Our administrative staff, chief EEG technician, nursing staff, and psychology staff will continue to provide services as usual. Cognitive testing with our psychologist and psychometrist will be performed both on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Patients with non-epileptic episodes are clarified and given appropriate treatments. Antiepileptic drug trials are available including studies with ganaxolone, YKP, intranasal benzodiazepines, brivaracetam, Sante Deep Brain Stimulator (DBS), and soon with cannabidiol. Our friendly and devoted staff will continue to care for your epilepsy treatment needs.
