Boasting a new twist on nightlife, GalleryBar is the newest addition to the booming Lower East Side. GalleryBar opens as a gallery by day, exhibiting works from the art world’s emerging and established talents. During the evening, it transitions into a bi-level lounge. Its upstairs gallery lounge can accommodate 150 people while the intimate downstairs living room can host 100 people. Separate bars on each floor make it a perfect choice for private parties. GHOST is an Art Lounge located directly across the street from Woodward Gallery at 132A Eldridge Street, New York. The concept is taken from a photo and eyewitness accounts of a Ghostly apparition in front of the space when it was first built! LMAKprojects was founded by Louky Keijsers Koning in 2005 and Bart Keijsers Koning joined as co-owner in 2009. The gallery's primary interest lies in the commitment to the artist's process and dedication to their thoughts and production. LMAKprojects works with artists who have proven to sustain continuity in their visual expression without being repetitive. The gallery strives to introduce collectors to new horizons through visual, sound, or conceptual experience, as well as opening communication to develop a relation between the viewer and the art. LMAKprojects is known for its exhibitions with international allure and focusing on interdisciplinary practices. LMAKprojects began operation in two New York spaces, Chelsea and Williamsburg, however, in October of 2008 it relocated to the Lower East Side (LES). The ground floor space features two levels with the first floor being solely dedicated to exhibitions, and the downstairs lower level for an office and private viewing. The new location allows for a focused program and an accessible neighborhood to welcome collectors. The gallery presents works in all media, ranging from drawing, painting, photography, video/film, and sculpture by artists from all over the world. Artistsʼ works have been acquired through LMAKprojects by such institutions as Museo del Barrio, New York; Contemporary Museum of Photography, Chicago; Guggenheim, New York; the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; The Philbrook Museum, Tulsa OK; Kadist Art Foundation, Paris, France and San Fransisco, US; Rhode Island Museum of Art, RI; Minneapolis Institute of Art, MN. The gallery has been reviewed in such publications as the New York Times, Art in America, Artforum, The Village Voice, the Washington Post, Modern Painters, Interview Magazine among others. LMAKprojects is a member of ArtTable. Owners/Directors Louky Keijsers Koning Bart Keijsers Koning Louky Keijsers Koning Graduated with a MA in Art History and a MA in Cultural Management from the University of Amsterdam in 2001. After a few years of managing various galleries she decided to expand her curatorial efforts and started LMAKprojects in 2005. Bart Keijsers Koning Graduated from SVA in 2000 specialized in painting, after a transfer from Columbia College Art department where he also studied Business. Prior to joining LMAKprojects in 2009 Keijsers Koning exhibited and curated in the Netherlands and the US, and managed various galleries.

The Tenement Museum tells the true stories of American immigrant families through recreated apartments in a historic tenement building constructed in New York's historic Lower East Side. We also offer neighborhood walking tours, evening programs, free English language classes and programs for school groups. In the midst of dozens of art galleries in the Lower East Side in Manhattan, Red Royalty Gallery, situated at Delancey and Allen Street, is something very different. It is a salon-type contemporary art gallery, rooted back in the Art nouveau's eclectic philosophy and the tradition of totality and theatricality: wooden floors, decorated storefront windows, and high chandeliered ceilings. We are pushing for the timely transcension of the widely accepted white cube model for galleries, as we believe that this format has already played its role in the history of art, and is slowly becoming dysfunctional. We represent Princeton-based sculptor and painter Kremena Lefterova whose imaginative colorful porcelain and ceramic sculptures are influenced by the beauty and complexity of Cirque du Soleil's performances and the fantasy world of Hieronymus Bosch's dream-like illustrations. Kremena's paintings and illustrations bridge the gap between the academic essence of the Russian Classical School and the magical qualities of Scandinavian fairytales. Animated yet static, figurative yet allegorical, and classical yet contemporary, Kremena’s multifarious works are unlike anything else currently on the art market. Kremena also works with clients to create in situ sculptures, installations, or fine design solutions for their office, apartment, or house.
MINI/Goethe-Institut Curatorial Residencies Ludlow 38 is the Goethe-Institut New York’s contemporary art space, made possible with the generous support of MINI. Located on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, it has provided for curatorial experimentation in the tradition of the German “Kunstverein” since 2008. Its mission is to introduce new international perspectives to the downtown art community and to foster dialogue within the aesthetic and political context of New York and the United States. Initially programmed by a different Kunstverein every year, the space was relaunched in 2011 as a residency program for young curators from Germany.
