The National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) is a national membership organization that addresses the professional needs of Latino/Latina independent producers. Hollywood Fight Club Productions began with a dream. In 2001, David Waknine, then an up-and-coming actor, wished there was a place that actors, writers, directors, and producers could call home. A place where they could create and make art on their terms, without waiting for an agent or a studio to tell them what to do. So he built one. And because it was a place where they fought for their careers and their dreams, he called it Hollywood Fight Club Theater. They produced 285 plays in ten years, regularly filling houses. The company began its transformation into HFC Pictures with numerous spec commercials, including Pepsi, Got Milk, Folger’s, and Johnson & Johnson. Under the umbrella of HFC Productions, the short film THE SIT-DOWN sparked great interest at Cannes International Film Festival. This film also marked the beginning of the long-standing collaboration with award-winning cinematographer and Sundance regular Patrice Lucien Cochet. Soon after, by popular demand, HFC Productions adapted their sell-out mafia drama WISEGUYS for the screen, and most recently wrapped production on the TV pilot JOJO, currently in post-production.
