Pridmore, opened in 1912 as the Victoria Theatre. It took three years to build the luxurious five-story vaudeville house. The lobby floor and staircases are still Italian marble, and the interior still has most of the original ornate wall sculptures. Under the gun (or “UTG”) is a poker term that refers to the position to the immediate left of the big blind in flop games like Hold’em and Omaha. The under-the-gun player is the first to act before the flop. The term refers to the pressure that goes along with having to act before anyone else in the hand. Through improv, our ensemble players utilize that pressure to act first--to take risks--sometimes we flop, but other times the rewards of laughter are bountiful. Welcome to Under the Gun Theater.
