Immacolata School is a Catholic school in Immacolata Parish, Richmond Heights, Missouri. Students attend from grades K through Eighth. Immacolata School's first graduating class was in 1950. The cornerstone was laid on the main building in 1949. The principal of Immacolata School is Dr. Jennifer Stutsman, a former long-time middle school Social Studies and Science teacher at the school. The pastor is Rev. Msgr. Vernon Gardin. In 2008, the Parish built a new school wing which added classrooms, offices and a conference room. Other recent improvements include a renovated playground, athletic fields, kitchen and cafeteria as well as a new wooden floor in the gymnasium. Students attend from the parish's boundaries as well as from neighboring areas.

Funds for Excellence Campaign: By participating in our Funds for Excellence Campaign you will help support our enrichment programs and will be contributing to capital improvement projects for our school. Some recent improvements you have seen are additional iPads and sound systems in the classrooms, updates and improvements to the library and front office space, and the new playground equipment.

Clients are St. Louis area residents diagnosed with a learning disability or associated developmental disorder including Asperger’s Syndrome. While they qualify for some support, they are not eligible for most services individuals with more severe disabilities receive. Our participants want fulfilling experiences with friends and acquaintances in the mainstream of life like everyone else. The participants are adults who want to be independent, to interact effectively and be a part of the fabric of the community. As participants gain self-confidence and a feeling of competence, they experience increased employment readiness, useful life skills and a greater ability to engage in meaningful relationships. The clients gain a "quality of life" that ultimately translates into independent, productive, more fulfilled lives - their goal and our mission.

Little Angels Foundation (LAF), was founded on March 14, 2013. Our organization aims to enrich the lives of children by providing books, school supplies, shoes, clothing, nutrition, and other necessary items to children in need. We also provide tutoring and mentorship to children in need in order to improve their interest and success in education. The Foundation's mission is to make a life-changing impact on children, families, and entire communities by providing a way for children in need to be put on a level playing field with their peers. 2 out of 5 children in the city of St. Louis are living in poverty. Our aim is to improve these children’s lives by providing them with the items they may not otherwise have access to. We want to provide these children with new items. Often, children living in poverty live off of used items and hand-me-downs. We want to ensure that these children know that they are important and that they are just as deserving of attention as their peers. We hope to bring joy to these children’s lives by giving them new items that they are in need of. Our Strategy Little Angels Foundation’s (LAF) aim is to fulfill its mission through grassroots volunteering and donations. Volunteers serve as family, fundraisers, special event assistants, donors, sponsors, and in numerous other capacities. We strive to be involved in our community and we encourage questions, referrals, or any other thoughts to be shared with us via e-mail. Veterans For Peace is structured around a national office in Saint Louis, MO and comprised of members across the country organized in chapters and working groups. There is an annual convention each year attended by our members, families and supporters from across the nation which is hosted by a different VFP chapter in a different city each year.

Every day, judges, child welfare professionals and caregivers make decisions that affect children who, through no fault of their own, were removed from the care of their parents and brought into state custody. Children enter care after having endured trauma at the hands of those responsible for their protection. If children’s needs are not met while in foster care, they will be at a higher risk of a future plagued by challenges, including low graduation rates, teen pregnancy, incarceration, homelessness and unemployment. These children, who have the most to gain or lose, have the least power in the decisions made by the court and the professionals who are responsible for their well-being. Voices child advocates are the only people whose sole focus is the best interests of the child. Our advocates give our children a powerful voice in decisions about where they will live and go to school, whether and how often they can spend time with siblings and other relatives, how long they will be in state custody and where they go when they leave foster care. We serve children from birth to age 21 in St. Louis city and county foster care. More than 80% of the children assigned to Voices are African American and nearly all come from families struggling with poverty. The children we serve have experienced multiple traumas including physical and sexual abuse and extreme medical, physical and/or educational neglect. As many as 40% have chronic health problems like asthma and diabetes, approximately 50% have a diagnosed psychiatric disorder and 60% have developmental delays or disabilities.

St. Louis aims to be a cultural mosaic because this community believes that immigrants invigorate our region, drive innovation and take us back to our roots. The St. Louis Mosaic Project’s goal is to transform St. Louis into the fastest growing metropolitan area for immigration by 2020 and promote regional prosperity through immigration and innovation. The St. Louis Mosaic Project was launched in 2012 in response to an economic impact report, outlining St. Louis to be lagging in immigrant growth as well as highlighting the economic benefits of increasing its foreign-born population. The Mosaic Project is a regional initiative that is professionally managed by St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, World Trade Center St. Louis and a 22-member committee.

A group of citizens, concerned about the current flood plain development trends within the St. Louis Metropolitan region, established Great Rivers Habitat Alliance in June 2000. GRHA addresses issues affecting wetland habitat and promotes sensible use of flood plains in the confluence region of the Mississippi, Missouri, and Illinois Rivers. Great Rivers Habitat Alliance supports preservation of the flood plains of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. The organization’s primary focus is on the Confluence Flood Plain in St. Charles County. The organization seeks to save our natural flood plain and rural agricultural heritage. GRHA strives in influencing public officials to make changes in their policies and legislation that is affecting the regional flood plain development. Since its establishment, GRHA has made contacts with regional influential politicians and officials and begun an awareness campaign to inform the general public about flood plain developments and new levee construction efforts that typically closely follow new flood plain developments. These awareness campaigns are the initial tools intended to raise attention about the importance of saving flood plains as natural water storage areas, instead of converting it into building sites for new, larger, strip malls and shopping centers. In order to effectively conduct and fund awareness campaigns and other efforts, the IRS approved GRHA as a charitable 501c3 organization status in Fall 2000. GRHA has also formed partnerships with other environmental organizations such as Missouri Coalition for the Environment, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, and Ducks Unlimited, etc. to effectively work on flood plain protection efforts. One of GRHA’s future goals is to acquire one or more conservation easements within the regional flood plain during 2001. The ultimate preservation goal is to protect 60,000 to 100,000 acres of land through easement acquisition and land purchases through federal, state, and private funding sources. The organization will continue making contacts with influential people addressing issues of concern.

On Sunday, September 7th, the Clayton Fire Department will host the 2nd annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb to benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Members of the fire service and EMS will convene in Clayton to pay tribute to their fallen brethren by climbing 110 stories in the Pierre Laclede Building. Some may carry breathing apparatus, fire hose or other firefighting equipment; many will be in full turnout gear. Each participant however, will carry a photo and biographical sketch of one of the 343 FDNY firefighters lost at the World Trade Center collapse on September 11th, 2001. The stair climb was chosen for two primary reasons: • The FDNY firefighters on 9/11 were forced to climb the stairs to rescue and evacuate people, as well as reach the fire floors. • A commitment to firefighter safety through better fitness We will have two climbs this year - 10am and 1pm, with check-in times at 9am and Noon. Public parking is available at the Centene Parking Garage, directly across the street from the stair climb venue at 7733 Forsyth Boulevard.
