The House at 1254-1256 Montgomery Street is a historic house located at 1254-1256 Montgomery Street in the Telegraph Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The house was built in 1865 on a secondary summit of the hill, which was also the site of a windmill that burned in 1861. The house's Italianate design features bay windows on the front corner, double-hung sash windows decorated with pilasters and cornices, and a bracketed cornice along the roofline. While the house originally had only one story, its second story was part of its original plan and constructed by the 1890s. The house is one of the few buildings on Telegraph Hill which survived the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and its aftermath.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 31, 1979.

We head on our stable catamaran beginning in San Francisco, heading out under the Golden Gate Bridge. we visit Harbor Seals in Diablo Cove and California Sea Lions at Point Bonita then head out to the Farallon Islands on our weekend trips. Breeding birds of the islands which we may spot include Pigeon Guillemot, Cassin's Auklet, Rhinoceros Auklet, Tufted Puffin Double-Crested Cormorant, Pelagic Cormorant, Brandt's Cormorant, Western Gull, Least Storm-Petrel, Ashy Storm-Petrel, Fork-tailed Storm-Petrel, Black Oystercatcher and the Common Murre.

Pier 41 is a ferry terminal on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. The former headquarters of Blue & Gold Fleet, their box offices are now located at Pier 39.The Pier is located east of the Fisherman's Wharf district and to the west of Pier 39. Moscone Center is the largest convention and exhibition complex in San Francisco, California. It comprises three main halls: Two underground halls underneath Yerba Buena Gardens, known as Moscone North and Moscone South, and a three-level Moscone West exhibition hall across 4th Street. It was initially built in 1981 by architects Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum as one single hall, Moscone South, and named after San Francisco former mayor George Moscone, who was assassinated in November 1978.BackgroundThe South of Market Area where Moscone Center was built was claimed by the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency, and a protracted battle was fought by the displaced low-income residents during the 1960s and 1970s.Although the Center is named after the murdered mayor, Moscone opposed the development of the area when he served on the SF Board of Supervisors in the 1960s because he felt it would displace elderly and poor residents of the area. As mayor, Moscone convened a special committee of proponents and opponents of a convention center. Hearings were held throughout SF seeking citizen input. A compromise was reached which was supported by Moscone. He put the matter on the ballot and it passed overwhelmingly.Labor organizations supported the construction of the Center, and were granted full labor jurisdiction. All labor in the Convention Center is performed by I.A.T.S.E. Local 16 Stagehands, Sign and Display Workers Local #510, Brotherhood of Teamsters local #65, IBEW Local #6, Security I.A.T.S.E.
