Food Outreach is a nutrition resource for men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS or undergoing treatment for cancer in 137 zip codes throughout the metro St. Louis area, including various counties in Illinois. Many of these clients are too weak to prepare meals, much less shop for food. Others lose their appetite due to the disease or medication regimen. Still others are undernourished because they are poor or because their disease has made them poor.

The St. Louis African Arts Festival began in 1991 as an artistic and cultural arm of the African Studies Association’s 34th Annual Conference hosted by Washington University in St. Louis. A variety of festival programs and activities were held throughout the metropolitan St. Louis area. Due to the overwhelming response from the broader community to the first St. Louis African Arts Festival, event organizers began to plan for the next festival held the following year. The African Heritage Association of St. Louis, Inc. was established in 1995 and serves as the parent organization of the St. Louis African Arts Festival. It is a 501(C) 3, non-profit organization
The Arts and Education Council builds appreciation, participation and support for arts and arts education through the St. Louis community.
This fall, American artists of many genres will participate in the fourth annual American Arts Experience - St. Louis (AAE STL) festival, a 17-day event showcasing national and local talent across a variety of mediums. Celebrating the creative work and inspiration of American artists, the theme of this year’s festival is “Art Made Fresh Daily.” A stellar lineup of performances is scheduled every day from October 3 through October 19 in venues across St. Louis. AAE STL is pleased to welcome literature to its category of events with this year’s new literary event in University City, “Lit in the Lou,” a three-day program featuring writing workshops, author appearances and readings, as well as book signings. Emerson, the diversified global manufacturing and technology company headquartered in St. Louis, is the official sponsor of the American Arts Experience - St. Louis. The St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission provides tourism support.
