Only the National Guard allows you to earn rewards for serving your country while maintaining your civilian life with a part-time commitment. Whatever Guard career path you choose, you'll find a wide range of benefits such as a way to save money, college money, learn a new career field, shopping discounts, and flying privileges are just a few valuable perks you may receive for your service. As a Soldier in the National Guard, you serve both our national government and that of your state or territory. This means you’ll earn benefits for serving both. Re-enlisting in a select critical skills area or unit could qualify you for incentives up to $15,000 in cash or $50,000 in student loan repayment. This is just one more way the Guard helps you move forward in your life. Eligibility requirements for these incentives vary. The Guard offers lots of programs to help both you and your dependents. Take advantage of scholarships, funding programs and academic counseling. The Army National Guard has two major scholarships to assist ROTC cadets who wish to attend college and enlist in the Guard: the Dedicated Army National Guard (DEDNG) scholarship and Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty (GRFD) contract.
