My goal is to help you achieve better physical/functional movement and relaxation, and overall physical, mental, emotional health through centering the body, mind and spirit in all aspects and modalities that you want to use (physical/fitness, emotional/mental, nutritional, etc). I offer massage, Pilates, yoga, relaxation techniques, nutritional coaching/advising, alternative health education and coaching. I will help you find ways to reach your wellness and/or fitness goals work best for what you enjoy doing and your lifestyle Massage description: As a trained dancer with a background in biology, I have a lot of training and experience with the body and with massage, and I understand the body innately in both a physical and intuitive way. With 6 years of professional experience, my highly developed sense of intuition and compassionate nature help me to tune into YOU, your body, your energy, and your needs. My multi-faceted massage combines the best of invigorating sports massage, myofascial release, relaxing Swedish, localized deep tissue, reflexology, acupressure, Reiki, and some yoga stretching all while addressing what I feel you as an individual need, whether it be muscular/myofascial release from an injury or held tension, or general relief from emotional or daily stress. Pilates Pilates is somewhat mainstream now so most are at least somewhat familiar with this practice. Pilates can be used to get into shape, sculpt the body, or realign the body for more healthy functional movement, preventing pain and injury, and can be a great form of low impact exercise. It is a great way to cross train for other forms of physical activity. The base concentration is to stenghthen one’s core, the deep muscles of our trunk or torso. As bipedal animals (walking on two legs vs 4) we have more of a challenge in maintaining stability throughout our lives and if alignment is lost or a lack of balance between strength and flexibility develops, we can develop imbalances in our movement and musculature which can lead to injuries in our joints (back, hips, knees, shoulders, elbows, etc). By strengthening the core of our trunk, where there are not so many bones, but a lot of musculature, we can create greater innate stability for all other movement. Pilates strengthens the core and also inegrates movement of the body throughout, balancing major muscles and stabilizers. In addition Pilates demands a high level of motor control, thus a lot of concentration, so these exercises become more than physical – they develop the mind-body connection and can, if full focused, provide a meditative experience while you focus fully on the exercise and nothing else. My training in pilates started 15 years ago and I have taught pilates for 7 years, and stll continue to study to develop my knowledge (this is true for all things that I practice – I never stop learning and growing). While fitness may be a goal my first goal with you will be to connect with and engage your inner core so that it can be utilized and movements can be executed properly to prevent injury. From there we can discuss your goals and develop a personalized program. Yoga Yoga not only lengthens muscles through gentle stretch and strengthens muscles through holding asanas, it can align your energy, and center your mind and give you a feeling of groundedness, through full concentration on the practice, and through proper use of breath, and through alignment of the body through the asanas. I incorporate my own past training in Vinyasa, Kundalini, and Yogea Art Flow, the latter of which I am currently in the process of completing certification. I began yoga at the age of 3 years old, and have studied and practiced throughout my entire life. 7 years ago I studied Vinyasa Flow formally under a Yogi, and have trained under a world traveled yogi, Antonia Katrandjieva for the last three years, under whom I am studying a unique, innovative and integrated form of yoga, Yogea Artflow (yogea.org) Nutritional/Health Coaching My own health issues motivated me to educate myself and seek out optimum nutrition and health habits. Through nutrition and listening to my body I beat the odds and put a crohnic condition into remission long term and have been drug free. I studied biology and biochemistry in college so that I could understand the mechanism of action of supplements and nutrition and how our metabolism works. I use this knowledge to educate others on how to optimize their nutrition and health. I believe that if we are eating truly nutritious food that gives the body what it needs with minimal toxin processing, it will let you know how much to eat. Rather than calorie restriction etc, I focus on finding foods that each individual enjoys and finding the bet quality in such foods or similar foods so that every time they eat, they are eating nutrient dense quality food. I utilize nutritional and herbal supplements as needed if the client is interested in also supplementing this way.

As an acupuncture patient for many years, I can speak first hand of the benefits to the mind, body, and spirit. A session in 2010 left me feeling uplifted on so many levels. My body and spirit were so light and I was full of energy. It immediately became clear I wanted to share this ancient gift with others, and so began my path into acupuncture. I received a Master’s of Science from Tri-State College of Acupuncture. I trained under great masters such as Kiiko Matsumoto and Mark Seem, becoming proficient in various styles of acupuncture. The goal in acupuncture is to bring the body to a balance. When we experience pain, anxiety, insomnia, that is our body’s way of expressing an imbalance. I work closely with the patient to uncover the root and return the body to a harmony of yin and yang. There is a wide variety of conditions treated with acupuncture such as: • pain relief (injuries, headaches, back pain) • digestive disorders (constipation, bloating, diarrhea) • psychological (insomnia, anxiety, stress, depression, lack of energy, addiction) • women’s health (PMS, fertility, irregular menstrual cycle) • respiratory issues (common cold, flu, allergies) My offices are located in Chelsea on Tuesdays from 3pm-8pm and in Williamsburg by appointment. If you want to better understand the benefits of acupuncture, be in touch and let’s have a conversation.

Rosemarie was a Mechanical Engineer with hopes of pursuing a law degree; however her life was cut short by Lupus ending her goal to practice law -she was only 37 years old. “Rosie” was a very loving and caring individual, a humanitarian who was passionate about the causes that she believed in. Had she lived, Rosemarie would have delved into Lupus research with a determination to find the cause(s) and a possible cure for this disease that took her life. Rosemarie was unable to pursue this endeavor, but her family and friends are committed to carrying the torch in her memory.
