Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! is a dark ride attraction at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. It is based on the 2001 Disney·Pixar film Monsters, Inc. It opened January 22, 2006 with a grand Sulley-Blue-Fur Carpet Premiere. The attraction replaced the short-lived Superstar Limo dark ride, and utilizes the same track layout. The CDA agents in the ride are re-dressed and repositioned celebrity figures from Superstar Limo. In addition, Superstar Limo's ride vehicles were reused for the attraction, repainted and re-dressed as Monstropolis taxi cabs.RideThe queue area, where guests wait to board the attraction, is themed to a bus station named the Monstropolis Transit Authority, featuring posters and videos of commercials of tourist spots in the fictional city of Monstropolis where the film is set.Guests board taxis on a journey through the streets of Monstropolis. A small television monitor in each of the three rows of the ride vehicle plays a clip of a tourism video that is interrupted with urgent news that a female human child named Boo has been seen in the city. The news is the subject of consternation as contact with humans is considered deadly to the monsters of the city. The taxis exit a tunnel through a detour from the welcoming gate and go down the dark streets of the city, passing characters Mike and Celia in Mike's new car as Mike wishes her a happy birthday. Riders proceed to see Randall, who looks around angrily.

Disneyland Park, originally Disneyland, is the first of two theme parks built at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, opened on July 17, 1955. It is the only theme park designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. It was originally the only attraction on the property; its name was changed to Disneyland Park to distinguish it from the expanding complex in the 1990s.Walt Disney came up with the concept of Disneyland after visiting various amusement parks with his daughters in the 1930s and 1940s. He initially envisioned building a tourist attraction adjacent to his studios in Burbank to entertain fans who wished to visit; however, he soon realized that the proposed site was too small. After hiring a consultant to help him determine an appropriate site for his project, Disney bought a 160acre site near Anaheim in 1953. Construction began in 1954 and the park was unveiled during a special televised press event on the ABC Television Network on July 17, 1955.Since its opening, Disneyland has undergone a number of expansions and major renovations, including the addition of New Orleans Square in 1966, Bear Country (now Critter Country) in 1972, Mickey's Toontown in 1993, and the forthcoming Star Wars Land. Opened in 2001, Disney California Adventure Park was built on the site of Disneyland's original parking lot.

Dear Foolish Mortals, You are hereby invited to a spirited tour via "buggy" of the home and estate of a prosperous yet departed sea captain whose elegant 19th-century mansion in the New Orleans Square was once the setting for some of the most prominent social gatherings this side of the Mississippi. The Host Alas, the sea captain and his family long ago met an...untimely...end. Tended by faithful servants, the home has been inherited by its ethereal inhabitants who are eager to meet you. Several prominent ghosts have retired here from creepy old crypts all over the world. Your Ghost Host is happy to show you their humble abode. Enter...if you dare! The House Make your way through the ghoulish grounds, where gravestones mark the resting places of both pets and pests. Once inside the house, please step into the dead center of the octagonal room. Watch as the portraits stretch to reveal the macabre predicaments of their subjects. Is there a way out? When the secret panel opens, flee the octagonal room to the sinister portrait corridor. Watch out because the eyes have it! Then descend into your Doom Buggy, your only hope of escape. The Haunts Your Doom Buggy whisks you into the darkest reaches of this mysterious madhouse packed with poltergeists and haunts of every hue! At the séance in progress, the medium Madame Leota invokes the 999 ghosts, ghouls and goblins that are just dying to meet you! They're looking to fill the 1000th spot in the mansion. Could you be their newest gloom-mate? Sincerely, The Haunted Mansion The Holidays Jack Skellington and his crew give the mansion a Christmas makeover that is sure to delight and fright even the foulest fiends. Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas inspires the great transformation from haunted house to Halloween Town. Don't miss the ginger-dread houses and blood-curdling pies as the Oogie Boogie Man and others scare up some extra festive fun. Season's Screamings, everyone! Is This Too Scary for Little Souls? Some of your smaller souls — not to mention those who might be afraid of the dark — might find the mansion more frightful than delightful. Guest Policies •Supervise children at all times. Children under age 7 years must be accompanied by a person age 14 years or older. •The ride itself is gentle, but young children may be frightened by the special effects. •Handheld Captioning is available at this attraction. The Disney Gallery is an attraction and merchandise location at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. It opened at its current location on Main Street U.S.A. on October 2, 2009. From 1987-2007 it was located in New Orleans Square above the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. The Gallery is a changing exhibition area focused primarily on artwork from Walt Disney Imagineering created in the designing of the Disneyland theme park. Merchandise relating to the current exhibition is usually available for purchase as well. The first Walt Disney Gallery is opened outside of the park within the Disney Store, Main Place Santa Ana mall in California on November 4, 1994.HistoryThe Royal SuiteIn the early 1960s, as construction of New Orleans Square was proceeding, Walt Disney decided he needed a bigger entertaining facility for various VIPs that came to the Park. He already had an apartment above the Fire Station on Main Street, U.S.A., but it was too small to host extensive events. Walt decided to place the suite in New Orleans Square, away from the hustle and bustle of the park.Walt brought in set designer Dorothea Redmond, famous for the sets in Gone with the Wind, to help him with the apartment layout. To furnish and decorate the area, Walt left his wife Lilly and Walt Disney Studio set decorator Emile Kuri to collaborate, as they had on other projects (Club 33, the Firehouse Apartment, etc.). The project was christened The Royal Suite, after the street in New Orleans Square (Royal Street) the apartment's entrance is on.

"You are familiar with nightmares, I am sure. Which makes this quite important.” The venom had fled his voice, leaving only a trace of insincerity and an insistent enthusiasm.Electric lights buzzed and hummed around white and red paint, bold words bellowed their truth. All were welcome, the bold words proclaimed. Come one, come all, hurry, hurry. A great beast in the nothingness waited to pounce. The carnival opened its jaws. “What sort of nightmare would you like to be?”
