The Theater of Public Policy Reviews

810 W Lake St
Minneapolis, MN 55408

(612) 305-8143

The Theater of Public Policy uses live improvisational theater to bring public policy issues and debates to life. Each show features a leading thinker on a particular issue. We'll interview each guest to find out their approach and solutions to a particular issue. All of the ideas and challenges brought up in this conversation serve as the inspiration for the improvised scenes to follow. The improvisers tasks are not be to make light of the issues or mock the players involved. Instead, scenes make the previous conversation come to life with living, breathing characters in the situations described. The scenes also explore what the implications of the problem and/or proposed solution might be.

Potted Meet Mondays

729 Marshall St NE
Minneapolis, MN 55413

Potted Meet Mondays is all about community, discussion, and connection. Our goal is to bring people of all walks together to join in the beauty that is live art mixed with an array of new, orchestral music; all brewed locally here in the Twin Cities. Lead by conductor/composer Adam Conrad, the players of Improvestra will open and close the evenings with two, 45 minute sets. Between these sets, members of the Coffee Pot Orchestra ('CPO'), joined by other MPLS musicians, will then be be reading through new works written by local composers. This is an open rehearsal type environment, during which the composer and orchestra will try different orchestrations and re-workings of the evenings music. In this setting, composers will be given the chance to hear their ideas live, getting real time feedback. We will also be showcasing new artists every month, whether it be painter, dancer, ceramic artist, sketcher, photographer, writer, sculpture, or otherwise. They will be presenting what they do in a live setting, giving attendees the chance to see them create in their element. These events are NOT performances. Instead, consider it an artistic outlet for everybody to take part in. Conversation, eating, drinking, yelling, dancing, meeting, greeting, hand shakes... Yes. All of the above are STRONGLY encouraged!! Our mission is to strengthen the already vibrant Twin Cities arts scene. Come hang with us!!
