River Roast a lively social house and gathering place featuring handcrafted, yet rustic, food with many plates designed for sharing. The menu features contemporary American tavern fare and will focus on dramatic presentations of whole roasted chicken, which is cold smoked and then roasted to perfection in a specially-designed oven; whole roasted de-boned fish prepared in a tandoor oven and slow-cooked roast beef; all carved tableside and served with French fries. Award-winning Chef Tony Mantuano has tapped celebrated Chicago Chef John Hogan to serve as executive chef. Together, they will create a diverse collection of shareable plates that may start the meal or accompany the main chicken, beef and fish entrees. The restaurant’s heart is the bustling kitchen, centrally located for guests to see the action as dishes are prepared. Two bars offer views of the water as well as a large selection of local beer, craft cocktails and wine. The restaurant is being transformed to create a bright, welcoming space within the historic Reid & Murdoch building. The design will showcase a brand new lower-level dining room with sweeping views of the Chicago River, two bars, a refreshed patio, and a semi-private dining room. Building on the success of Fulton’s on the River as a sought-after venue, River Roast Private Events will include an additional event space that overlooks the dining room and offers views of the waterfront. River Roast Private Events may now be booked for summer and fall occasions by calling 312.527.1417.

Located at 222 North LaSalle Street, Prime & Provisions is positioned on the border of River North and Loop area. The steakhouse consists of a 12,000-square-foot space, spanning from the ground floor to the second floor dining area. The restaurant seats approximately 300 guests inside, as well as 50 guests in the outdoor garden patio. DineAmic Group partners, David Rekhson and Lucas Stoioff, chose the nearly 100-year-old building, owned by the Crown family, because of the location, cityscape views and the upcoming Chicago riverwalk project. Wrapping around the bustling corner of LaSalle and Wacker, Prime & Provisions highlights the vintage opulence of the building’s character and creates a social experience that connects the modern-day patron with the sophistication and glamour of the era in which the building was first constructed. The menu celebrates the simplicity of true steakhouse cuisine. In an era inundated with restaurant concepts all vying to tap into the newest trend, or meld the most avant-garde ingredients, Prime & Provisions reconnects with traditional steakhouse roots. Reaching back to a time when a night out enjoying a marvelous, hand-cut steak was a celebration in itself, Prime & Provisions puts quality first.

Today Lou Mitchell’s is not only a Chicago institution, but also recognized nationally and internationally with endless accolades. Among the list are USA Today, American Way, newspapers, magazines, food critics, television. “It’s a must see place.” Located at the beginning of Route 66 at 565 W. Jackson Boulevard, Lou Mitchell’s has been host to many. Everyone from U.S. Presidents, Mayors, Governors, Senators, Representatives, athletes, coaches, authors, judges, lawyers, clergy, and stars of the stage and screen. It’s a time-honored whistle stop on the campaign trails of many elected officials. Additionally, the restaurant’s patrons have served many members of the media as a solid source on how Chicagoans really think and feel about a variety of issues. Uncle Lou taught us that excellence is a constant effort and that quality stands out. Entering our 89th year, it’s still a family affair continuing the traditions of Lou Mitchell’s by the Thanas Family.

About Robin… Robin McCown Mumford has spent the last 28 years nurturing her love of Art and her commitment to supporting emerging artists, through her professional and volunteer work. She started her career in New York working for a publishing division of CBS and then went into magazine publishing where she was a Promotion Editor for VOGUE magazine. After 7 years with VOGUE, Robin decided to pursue her desire to promote unknown and gifted artists and began doing so in 1988 after her first child was born. Robin’s 8 years in the publishing industry gave her the promotion background needed to start her art business, The Mumford Collection LLC. Robin procures art and design elements for residences and corporations. She is responsible for all aspects of commissioning, procuring, and installing site-specific art for her clients. "Art is a wonderful part of life. To discover art that is inspiring and absolutely perfect for my clients is truly exciting. I view my work as a vocation. There are many gifted artists waiting to be discovered. To find them is thrilling. It is important for such artists to be able to support themselves with their respective talents. Success sustains them economically, spiritually and emotionally. I have been told that my passion for art is contagious. I view that as a good thing!" Robin has been featured multiple times in the Chicago Tribune and Home Design Magazine. She has volunteered with Mercy Home for Boys and Girls and has sponsored young artists workshops. Robin and her husband of 26 years have three children—Jim, Everett and Elise, each of whom seem to appreciate their mother’s passion and great love of art.
