Ignite Glass Studios offers glassblowing and kilnforming classes, workshops, demonstrations, team-building activities, professional bench rentals, and an artists’ gallery. By night, Ignite’s workroom is transformed into flexible work room offering a unique venue for private, corporate and community events. The space includes a 5,788 square foot room adjacent to and interactive with the glassblowing studio that can accommodate 220-seated guests, as well as an outdoor garden, rooftop deck, and a conference room. Rhona Hoffman Gallery, founded originally as Young Hoffman Gallery in 1976, specializes in international contemporary art in all medias, and art that is conceptually, formally, or socio-politically based. From its inception, the gallery has launched emerging artists’ careers. In the seventies, Young Hoffman Gallery was one of the first galleries to offer exhibitions to women artists including Cindy Sherman, Barbara Kruger, Jenny Holzer, and Sylvia Plimack Mangold. Since, 1983 when Rhona Hoffman and Donald Young announced the establishment of separate galleries, Rhona Hoffman Gallery has continued to show young and emerging artists alongside more established ones. Among the artists the gallery has exhibited and/or continues to exhibit are Vito Acconci, Spencer Finch, Luis Gispert, Leon Golub, Robert Heinecken, Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kruger, Sol LeWitt, Gordon Matta-Clark, Robert Ryman, Fred Sandback, Lorna Simpson, Nancy Spero, Richard Tuttle, Brian Ulrich, Carrie Mae Weems, and Kehinde Wiley. Rhona Hoffman Gallery is very active in the Chicago arts community and maintains strong relationships with museums, helping to place important works in their collections and within their programs. Additionally, the gallery gives exposure to artists currently living in Chicago such as Adam Brooks, Stephanie Brooks, Julia Fish, Judy Ledgerwood, Richard Rezac, and Anne Wilson.

DOCUMENT is a commercial gallery located in Chicago that specializes in contemporary photography, film and media based art. The gallery has organized more than 30 solo exhibitions since its opening in 2011 and actively promotes the work of emerging national and international artists. Operating conjointly as a professional printmaking studio, DOCUMENT facilitates the production of works by emerging and established artists from Chicago and the US.

The Exoneration Project is an Illinois not for profit legal services organization. We operate a clinic at the University of Chicago Law School. Attorneys and support staff from the Chicago area civil rights law firms work with law students to represent clients wrongfully convicted of crimes.

First off, "moms" is a broad term. It refers to all women (cis and trans) who identify as mothers, sisters, caregivers, teachers, organizers, healers in the community. It refers to those of us who are so deeply connected to our communities, that we can measure the health and well being of our own selves by the health of our communities. Moms United is comprised of women/moms/sisters/caregivers/teachers, all of whom have worked on issues of displacement--"politically" and personally. That displacement has come in the form of foreclosure, eviction, job loss, loss of community schools and clinics, incarceration, abuse or loss of loved ones due to violence. Each of those forms of displacement have internal and external elements. There are profit motives behind, them and there are adverse economic consequences for us, as well as consequences to our physical and emotional well being. Our goal is to come together at these intersections of displacement and trauma, and to build a mobilization of women who fight back, reclaim, and recreate ourselves and our communities. We are caregivers and healers in our communities, and we must work to care for ourselves and to fight back against those who profit from our displacement, as well as the alienation from our collective power, and our own selves. We will reclaim these communities, mom by mom, house by house, block by block. Join us, Mamas! Reach out, and we will surely reach back.

Haymarket continues Monsignor Ignatius McDermott’s (Father Mac) mission of treating the ‘whole person’ and restoring stability to those in treatment and their families. Haymarket goes beyond treatment of addiction – from detoxification, to recovery, to finding a home, learning a job skill and gaining employment. Haymarket Center’s goal is to provide its clients with opportunities enabling them to lead productive and creative lifestyles without drugs. Founded in 1975 by the late Monsignor Ignatius McDermott and Dr. James West, McDermott Center dba Haymarket Center is the largest not-for-profit community-based adult detoxification, residential, and outpatient substance abuse treatment facility in Chicago. Haymarket Center has continued to grow into a comprehensive alcohol and other drug treatment organization, licensed by the state of Illinois, which receives funding from the private sector, as well as city, county, state and federal agencies. The treatment programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitative Facilities (CARF). Msgr. McDermotts and Dr. West’s understanding of addiction as a disease provided the motivation for their call for treatment in lieu of criminalization. This fundamental perspective continues to guide Haymarket Center in pioneering innovative, high quality, community-based, social setting behavioral health programs that are gender responsive, culturally appropriate and population specific. Although Haymarket serves primarily homeless, indigent and ex-offenders from the south and west side communities of Chicago, it extends its services to the entirety of Illinois. Since its inception Haymarket Center has remained wholeheartedly devoted to identifying and designing new and progressive methods for furthering our founding mission: “to aid people with chemical dependency in their recovery by providing a continuum of optimal professional care that is responsive to the identified needs of the community.” With more than 30 specialized programs supporting our mission, more than half are CARF accredited programs that utilize evidence based practices which harness significant research that prove their effectiveness and insure greater success for our clients. Along with this commitment, we have continually been faithful to our guiding principle of providing comprehensive substance abuse treatment and referrals to Chicago’s vastly ignored and underserved populations regardless of their ability to afford services. Our loyalty to these two fundamental principles has led Haymarket to develop programs in clinical treatment and supportive services to men, women and children, serving over 18,000 clients per year.

The LLS Student Series is a service learning, character education and philanthropy program that gives students a unique experience to make a difference through teamwork and aid thousands of children and adults in the fight against blood cancers like leukemia. As children move through their years at school, they can grow with the Student Series and have an even greater impact on the lives of blood cancer patients.

On February 27, 2015 the Red Shoe Society of Chicago will host its 15th Annual Wine Social benefiting the Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children’s Hospital. Established in 2000, the Red Shoe Society's signature fundraiser has become one of Chicago's most popular charity fundraising events. Initially conceived as an intimate wine tasting, the Wine Social now attracts over 600 guests to an upscale cocktail affair. The Red Shoe Society is thrilled to announce that the 2015 Wine Social will be held at Morgan Manufacturing, a newly renovated event space in Chicago's popular West Loop neighborhood. The West Loop has quickly become the destination of choice for Chicago's top restaurants, bars, and young creative minds. This year's event is a reflection of that culture and guests will be immersed in the most vibrant, modern, and engaging Wine Social yet. Each year, Open Books cultivates the literacy skills of thousands and children, from those who need intervention to those who desire enrichment. Open Books also provides readers of all ages with engaging, appropriate, and high-quality books through our book grant programs.
