The Stork Club Oakland is one of the Bay area's longest running entry-level venues for bands starting out, playing the area for the first time, or seasoned veterans who want to bust one out for old time's sake. It features a full bar separate from the dance floor /stage area, a gaming room & outdoor smoking area. it has it's own custom designed sound system & mic collection adequate enough to cover most performer requirements. it's very much a blue-collar, family run operation that takes pride in serving the local community as many years as it has & is often compared to NYC's CBGB. The Stork Club has a fairly broad-minded booking policy that embraces a wide variety of styles & genres that reflect the diversity of Oakland itself. that being said, Hip Hop, Trad Jazz, Blues, Soul, R&B or Country acts should look elsewhere as the crowd doesn't show up much for these sort of shows here Requirements for booking bands: PLEASE READ ALL BELOW 21 & OVER WITH ID REQUIRED TO BOOK SHOWS please check the calendars on our official website (www.storkcluboakland.com) for open dates & email us the dates you are interested in. We will get back to you ASAP. Dates are booked in order e-mails are received but may take up to 24 hours to post.. Every night's show needs at least 4 hours of entertainment usually 3-4 bands. 2 or three bands is enough when following an early evening event like the Comedy or Literary / Theater event Bands are required to get at least a couple of other acts to join them on the bill before we can completely confirm the booking. when you submit your booking request, please include your phone number, the act's Genre, home town, #people in band in the email request, Including Expected Draw, (please be honest!) A link where your music can be heard, a current phone #. and email is required to hold the date. The minimum. draw required for 4 or more bands is 40 people Tues & Weds nights,& 100 people for Thur-Sat nights. do to the austerity of the current recession, we aren't able to issue drink tickets until each band has drawn TEN paid admissions EACH at the door. we do record every show & bands are given an audio CD of their performance The STORK CLUB cannot guarantee any amount of payout. however only $100 is taken out to pay door & sound.all money left over is split amongst the bands! get a good crowd in & you do better than most venues anywhere that take percentages. we don't charge any percentages for merch either. that's your gas money! Efforts will be made by the door person to ask guests what band they came to see and money will be allotted to the bands respectively. once again, If 10 or more people have paid to see a band, each of their members will receive 2 drink tickets (Good for 1 bottle of PBR each or 1 well drink for 2 tickets) THANKS AND LOOKING FORWARD TO HAVING YOU -Stork Club Booking
