Theatre of Yugen is a San Francisco based ensemble of artists from North America, Europe, and Asia who create works of world theater influenced by the classical Japanese dramatic forms of Noh and Kyogen. Whether the subject matter of our shows is classical or contemporary, and whether our performance is primarily serious or comic, we strive to project the aesthetic quality of yugen, or mysterious elegance, which gives our work a distinctive style and provides a unique experience to our audience. Our ensemble members receive training in the traditional Japanese Noh and Kyogen forms. We also engage with colleagues in the experimental arts community and incorporate other diverse performance styles and artistic media into our work. We are proud to have been part of the San Francisco arts scene for more than thirty years and to have established a national and international reputation through tours across the United States, Europe, and the Far East. Theatre of Yugen is supported by a dedicated staff and an active board of directors.

FROM THE TEAM OF THE BON VIVANTS - JOSH HARRIS, SCOTT BAIRD, AND JASON HENTON - A KICK ASS, WELL MADE, NO BULLSHIT, NEIGHBORHOOD COCKTAIL BAR WITH GREAT MUSIC, DELICIOUS DRINKS, AND FOOD TIL THE END.
Bergerac takes its inspiration from the legendary Villa Nellcote, an old French mansion where the rolling stones recorded their seminal album "Exile on Main Street." During their stay, the Stones not only threw great parties, but savored the best food and drink, waited on by their private staff and their renowned personal chef. We aim to offer the same quality experience without the pretension, fusing craft cocktails and great public house fare with the unexpectedness and liveliness of an impromptu house party.
Hole In The Wall opened during April of 1994 in the heart of San Francisco’s South of Market district. Fourteen years later we packed up and moved two blocks, to Folsom Street. 1369 Folsom Street to be exact. We welcome everybody (except moochers, bigots, and speed freaks) and have drink specials for those on two wheels. Above all we’re about good music and down to earth people.
