The Neville Public Museum of Brown County was built in 1983 at 210 Museum Place in downtown Green Bay, Wisconsin. Prior to this, the City and the County shared responsibility for the museum when it was the Kellogg Public Library and Neville Public Museum located across the Fox River (Wisconsin). The museum is the trailhead for the Packers Heritage Trail.
Hazelwood Historic House was originally the home of Morgan and Elizabeth Martin and their children. It is the only historic home that is available to tour with that is also on its original location. It affords a beautiful view of the Fox River and can also be accessed from the Fox River Trail. Hazelwood is operated by and serves as the base of operation for the Brown County Historical Society. The Brown County Historical Society (BCHS) was officially founded as the Green Bay Historical Society on October 21, 1899 by a dedicated group of local historians. Throughout its long history, BCHS members have been active in preserving historic buildings, conducting research, providing information to the public, and stimulating interest in the complex multicultural heritage of the area. Today the Society is as vital as ever. Its projects include advocacy for historical preservation, educational outreach, publications, operation of a historic house museum, and as a historical resource to the community.
