Bayview-Hunters Point Center for Arts and Technology (BAYCAT) is a nonprofit social enterprise that educates, empowers and employs young people from historically underserved Bay Area communities in the digital media arts including: video production, music production, animation, graphic and web design. We believe in running a nonprofit like a business, and in changing the philanthropy model — from begging to self-sustainable. That’s why we created the “clonor” model, where clients become donors, and donors become clients.

Welcome! I’m Natalie Ray. I began my career in marketing as Marketing Director of Michael Greene & Company in Sacramento, California, where I not only spearheaded MGC’s participation in the Kate Somerville Pre-Emmy Award Gifting Suite, but implemented social media marketing into the firm’s strategy before the term was coined, sending the firm’s participation in the event viral. Feeling the rush of excitement after seeing the results of a simple online marketing campaign, I was inspired to help other local businesses and entrepreneurs through social media, then breathing life into my dream company, Studio 41 Creative, a boutique marketing agency based out of San Francisco, California. Studio 41 sought out small businesses in the metropolitan city that seemed to be struggling and brought them out of the dark ages and into the light of an online presence. Three years after it’s conception, Studio 41 needed to expand. Feeling closed in by the essence of Studio 41- the branded name, the small office space, and location served- I decided to conceive a marketing course that would truly capture the soul of what she was trying to accomplish: to propel creative businesses all over America to the exposure they deserved. Hence, the Studio 41 Social Media Academy was born. Ready. Set. Launch.
