The historic space which houses Tavolo V retains plenty of reclaimed aspects from its previous life as a lighting warehouse with contemporary finishing touches. High wooden-beam lined ceilings and glass-paned salvaged bay doors breathe plenty of refreshing daylight into the casual yet classy dining room. Walls play host to sections of exposed brick and concrete along with a detailed mural exemplifying Pietro's rich family history in the St. Louis restaurant business. Tavolo V enjoys an uncommon luxury among the majority of Loop restaurants -- its own spacious parking lot -- in addition to plenty of patio seating along the sidewalk.

In consideration of those who do not smoke and the quality of the dining room, we ask that you please refrain from smoking cigars, cigarettes, and pipes inside. For your convenience, a 15% gratuity will be calculated for all parties of 5 to 6, and 18% for 7 guests or more. Finally, special requests and substitutions can often be accommodated for minimal or no charge at all (depending on the market prices of foods and the degree of the request). Also, feel free to request your entree to your spiciness! Our levels are graded with four stars with one star being the mildest, and four, the spiciest! Pat brings "pad thai" to St. Louis: When Supatana "Pat" Prapaisilapa first opened the Thai Cafe in University City in 1991, his mission was to introduce the world of Thai cuisine to the people of St. Louis. His first venture offered a nice, quiet, yet humble atmosphere for those to enjoy the tastes of Thai right in the heart of the Loop. Early in the 90's, however, the Eastern portion of Delmar was bare and without all the shops or the classy Pin Up Bowl's bowling alleys or the extravagant Pageant venue. Regardless, customers embraced the new spiciness that Pat had brought to the area. Realizing all the college campuses around, Pat decided to open up a second, more casual restaurant that would cater to the atmosphere of college students. With TV's to accommodate any sporting events that would be in danger of missing and brighter lighting, the Thai Country Cafe was like the lively, little brother to the Thai Cafe. Three years later in 1996, after a trip to Thailand, an idea sparked. Supatana still believed that there was another aspect of Thailand that was needed to be shown. The Thai Gai Yang restaurant was inspired simply by the fast, efficient, outdoor eateries in Thailand intended for a quick meal. This one too, would specialize in their version of rotisserie chicken (hence the name Thai Gai Yang, "Gai Yang" means barbecued chicken in Thai). What started off as one small cafe on the East side of Delmar suddenly turned into three, and then into six as Thai became available for business lunches downtown (Thai Express) and another location in the Loop-the Thai Pizza Co.-that offered a fusion of pizza and Thai. The idea behind this was to create "thoughtfully prepared pizza" for a reasonable price. Seating was now available outside and for the first time ever, you could create your own dish by choosing your noodle, your meat, and your garnish through a style called "Stir Crazy". Finally, in 2005, Supatana acquired another location off of Olive and named this one the Thai Nivas Cafe after his mother who had brought over her six children here to the United States, financed had supported them throughout their careers

Peacock Loop Diner is a 24 hour restaurant located in the vibrant Delmar Loop in St. Louis, Missouri. That’s right – open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. We are ALWAYS open to welcome you! When you’re with us, we want you to experience happiness and fun so that all your worries seem a million miles away. We’ll always be a cheerful, friendly and welcoming place for you to hang out. We serve delicious, fresh takes on diner breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the whole menu is available 24/7. We have a full bar from which we serve until 1:00 am and until midnight on Sundays. In addition to our own twists on diner classics, we have many Asian-influenced dishes, sandwiches, soups and salads, vegan and vegetarian dishes, excellent burgers and many gluten-free options. Our bar serves up spiked milkshakes, specialty cocktails, local craft beers and hand-picked wines. Talk to us about what you like or what you would like to see us carry! We want to be your stress-free zone. Our much-photographed 11-ft wide animated neon sign weighs 1800 pounds, has 50 transformers and over 680 feet of neon tubing. A sequencer cues the peacock’s colorful feathers to fan out and back 200 times per hour. Peacock Diner’s atmosphere and décor is visually striking. We have four U-shaped diner counters brightly lit like the colorful feathers of a peacock; gorgeous corresponding lit-up shapes on the ceiling; numerous display-case collections of peacock memorabilia and old-time diner ephemera sprinkled throughout; two beer ball games and a jukebox. Owner Joe Edwards has been collecting memorabilia for over 15 years to put in his trademark display cases. We also have a special booth you may reserve for smaller, intimate parties. It’s called the Peacock Carousel of Love and there’s nothing like it. Check it out in our Unique Spaces! Great care was taken to make our diner exceptionally environmentally-friendly and we hope for a high level of LEED certification. We just might be the greenest and most sustainable diner in the United States! We have outdoor patio seating along both the tree-lined pedestrian mews walkway and on Delmar, underneath our much-talked-about animated neon sign. At the Peacock Loop Diner, we’re very in-touch with the community and the neighborhood and, along with the 24-hour Moonrise Hotel, share the mission of making The Loop a true 24-7 livable, walkable neighborhood.
