Broadway Bodies is a high-impact, dance cardio workout to your favorite Show Tunes & Movie Musicals. Incorporating basic and challenging dance movements (choreography) with high impact aerobics, Broadway Bodies is a fun and exciting cardio class that encourages you to sing a long while you sweat. The first 30 minutes feature a cardio build-up set to an exciting medley of show tunes from popular musicals (repeated each class). We follow this with a unique custom combination created by our choreographer and derived from a Broadway or Hollywood musical. The classes are 55 minutes long, and each class features a brand new combination. All levels of dancers welcome! Broadway Bodies Los Angeles is owned and taught by Joseph Corella. Although many titles can be used to describe Joseph, at his core he is a teacher. Using his dance and theater background, Joseph teaches dancers and non-dancers alike to express themselves through movement. His teaching has brought him around the globe to such places as Japan, France, England, Canada, and dozens of cities across the United States. Joseph’s connection to movement started in his early childhood with extensive dance training. At fifteen, he joined Marguerite Derricks’s prestigious teen company and shortly thereafter appeared in Disney’s Geppetto alongside pop superstar Usher. Additionally, he was named American Dance Awards’ Teen Male Dancer of the Year. Joseph’s success in the dance world led to a music career in the Latin pop trio, Tropic Zone. Subsequently, he appeared on Broadway in All Shook Up, and toured the US with productions of Grease! and West Side Story. Joseph then shifted focus, as his desire to be in front of large audiences transformed to a need to be in front of students. He began choreographing and teaching. Joseph’s choreography has been seen on the MTV Video Music Awards, the Lifetime reality hit “Dance Moms,” and in production numbers for YouTube sensation Shane Dawson. Recently, he choreographed the hit musical parody Prairie-Oke (A.K.A. Almond Grove) and Julie Brown’s new musical “Homecoming Queen’s Got a Musical." Joseph's main goal at Broadway Bodies Los Angeles is to help bring fitness and health into people’s lives through the joy of dancing.

Who we are and what we do: BlueprintMyLife is a health and fitness company designed to rebuild the stronger, natural you. We have a very simple ideology that gives amazing life long results, move like a human, eat like a human and live like a human is meant. All these things do not come easy as we have been conditioned from birth to live and interact in the modern sedentary world, where have become lazy and obsessed with excess. As children we move naturally the way humans are meant to, with perfect form and complex movement, that was never taught, but acquired through experience. However now we spend hours a day in chairs preventing tissues and muscles associated with something as simple and natural as squatting, from being as strong, mobile or flexible as they should be. Sitting will also slower your metabolism and can even shut off certain mechanisms in your body that protect you from chronic diseases. We are not meant to live a sedentary lifestyle. This is just a small example of things that happen to us in the modern world. At BlueprintMyLife it is our philosophy to live simple and to move with complexity. Running, jumping, hanging, pulling, pushing, crawling, climbing, and inverting are all your right as a human and important to practice to maintain a truly healthy body. About Personal Training: The Movement: Today’s health and fitness industry is not teaching people how to move naturally. They use machines to isolate muscle groups even though outside of the gym you would never find yourself doing the movement. Programs such as CrossFit have moved to more complex movements and are very good at getting people to use functional movements, however this movement is still so linear. If someone can not safely go out of the “safe” range, if they can not over extend something without injury, are they actually getting stronger? We teach people how to control and use there own body. Pushing ligaments, tissues, muscle and mind to their natural limits. Ask any engineer you are not truly strong if one part is the entire system is weak. We use linear functional movement and know that it is important especially when moving and external object, as it will translate to real world movement. The Difference is Mindset: BlueprintMyLife goes beyond what the norm is in the health and fitness industry. We know that mindset is one of the most important aspects to successes. Muscles must work together including one of the hardest to train will power or your mind. We have witnessed failure and we have witnessed success many times, the difference is your mindset. If you believe you will fail then you will fail. If you truly believe you cannot fail then success is your only option. All our clients are required to use the following quote from owner Chris Dicke or to come up with their own inspirational quote that they share with us. You must first change your mind, then your actions and your body will follow. If you want “to loose weight fast and look good for your wedding” then we probably can not help. However if you “are going to become healthy and fit to live a longer life with your significant other,” we can help and even shed those pounds before your special day. You must love yourself unconditionally to reach your goals, your thought process and what you think, are who you are. The difference between failure and success is your belief in yourself. All the hoping and praying in the world will not help anything become accomplished. If you believe in yourself and you believe in why you will succeed then that is exactly what will happen, YOU WILL SUCCEED. Find a reason why you can and forget the reasons you can’t. We don’t like the word Diet: That being said, diet is an extremely important part to health, longevity and to success of any kind. At BlueprintMyLife we believe in the very simple human diet(AKA paleo, caveman diet). Vegetables, meat and water should be your main source of fuel, fruits, nuts and seeds can also be enjoyed sparingly and are beneficial. Whole foods from healthy local sources such as free range chicken, grass fed beef, and organic produce are your best source of food. (Try to buy local!) We do not recommend consuming cereal grains as they are actually an anti-nutriant. Click here to learn more. We understand that people have moral believes and reasons not to eat meat and we respect that decision. We believe at all times possible no matter what your eating it should not effect people in a negative way and all animals should live a long healthy, happy lives. Conclusion: It is time to knock down the modern approach to fitness and rebuild the human body the correct way. Your mind and body must be one, you must change your mind first and your body will follow. Blueprint is a different approach to health, fitness and well being. We teach people how to use and treat their mind and body the way it is meant to be treated. We focus on mindset, functional and natural movement, rehabilitation and prevention using a science based methodology. We want to help you live the active life you always wanted by creating a solid foundation in movement and the opportunity to utilize your new body though practice, execution and experience. Health is not any percentage sleep, diet or exercise, it is one hundred percent mindset. Change and growth happens outside of the comfort zone. Adventure Program: We practice what we preach and invite you to join us all the way. The best way to live is though experience and we are here to provide the opportunity to have many experiences. We organize adventures from group hiking, camping or survival classes to rock climbing, surfing, white water rafting(Skydiving anyone?) and much much more. We are trying to always do something new and continue the things we love. If it involves being active or facing a fear and can be done in nature, we will make it happen. We utilize the fact we have created a community to make it more affordable and accessible for everyone to live the active life filled with adventures. We know that living a healthy and active life is more then getting to the gym and eating well. It is more then doing the bare minimum. Health and fitness is about a healthy active lifestyle. This means getting out and doing more, moving more, smiling more and laughing more. We are here to provide you with a way to meet people support and share in your active life. In the following quote Timothy Ferris was talking about success in business but I know it translates to success in all things you do. “But you are the average of the five people you associate with most, so do not underestimate the effects of your pessimistic, unambitious, or disorganized friends. If someone isn’t making you stronger, they’re making you weaker.” ― Timothy Ferriss, The 4-Hour Workweek So join us for an adventure and surround yourself with ambitious, active, healthy, amazing people! Classes: We know everyone is different from the toes up. We do not have cookie cutter programs or classes designed for the masses. Our group classes are about education first and exercise second! Don’t get us wrong, you will move and you will sweat but you will do it with a knowledge that what you do is bettering you. You may not always be doing the same thing as everyone in the class but you will be together and the support you get from a community is amazing and inspirational. Meet Ups: We don’t want to meet for drinks friday night, we don’t want to be around people who are going to sleep the day away tomorrow because we love the day. We want to see you out chopping wood for a bonfire and crawling in the sand before our giant paleo meal, mingling, laughing, and living. We are the alternative to the modern world. Make friends, fall in love, stay active, make memories that will stay with you forever. Come meet up! (We do not encourage alcohol but it is by no means against the rules) (We do encourage your bringing people, music, instruments, food, and a good attitude.) It was located in the Hastings Hotel building, 6162 Hollywood Blvd. The space had previously been occupied by a Greek restaurant called The King's Palace.
