Control Group Productions: Our medium is live performance (occasionally also film) using all available tools to make work at hand. The purpose and process dictate the form of the product. Our work engages contemporary global arts dialogues while remaining rooted in our local culture. Alex Palacio "Artista" It's hard to define one specific medium to what I do, I wouldn't want there to be just one either. As I've grown into an artist, dabbling into all forms of art has enlightened me with my own "Artista" style. I started with simple black and white drawings of hands in my early teens, then progressed to black and white portraits of people. When I soon discovered that color would soon be my friend, I started incorporating color in portraits that led to acrylic and oil paintings. Still only focusing on realistic portraits. Then.... I discovered spray paint and little did I realize, color was my best friend. I went from black and white realism to vibrant sci-if, mystical landscapes that only exist in my world.... In starting my business Artista LLC in the summer of 2013, I wanted to shine light to beautiful art that can be created through spray paint. Art is a form of reality that is perceived through artists eyes and transferred through their fingers. It's is a form of communication and understanding one another. Artista is this and more. What is most important to me is being able to create a painting through your inspiration, and this is what I am as an artist. -A ARTISTA now consists of Alex and her apprentices which at this moment include 3, Zach, Melissa and Jay. I soon hope to expand and be able to teach more future artists.

The Dinner Detective is the largest, award-winning, interactive comedic murder mystery dinner show in the United States. We are now running public and private shows in cities across the country every week. Our immensely popular shows are set in the present day. Unlike other murder mystery dinner shows, here you will find no cheesy costumes, no recited campy dialogue and no hokey song and dance. Our performers are dressed just like everyone else, leaving all of the guests to suspect who is a part of the show and who is not. In many instances, guests are seated with the performers and don't even realize it until they die...the performers, that is! Our Detectives proceed to interrogate everyone and find clues as more people die. At the end of the night, prizes are awarded to the Top Sleuth who solves the crime.
