Steve Sazama, alias Saz opened Saz's State House in March 1976. Saz created a first rate restaurant and sports bar in the inviting, historic building on State Street featuring his award winning Barbecued Ribs. The signature BBQ Pork Sandwich, initially developed for Milwaukee's festivals, became a restaurant favorite. Over the years Saz's State House has become the place to be before and after Brewer, Bucks, Marquette and Admirals games with our shuttle running to and from most of these teams' home games. Saz's a natural part of any sport night. And Saz's Brewers Opening Day tailgate parties are known as "The Finest"!
Some of the best memories are made at the breakfast table. And for more than 50 years, millions of people have made those memories at IHOP.
At Cousins Subs, we strive for better. Since 1972 we've been creating our signature deli fresh subs. We start with fresh bread that is baked every day, then we freshly chop vegetables and slice the meat daily. It's how we do it and always have.

Burkes Irish Castle Story In April 2012 Sean Burke, along with his partners Shane Valenti and Chuck Vecitis, purchased Derry Hegarty’s Pub at 5328 West Blue Mound Road. Derry’s Pub had become one of Milwaukee’s premier Irish Bars over the course of the last 40 years. Burke’s Irish Castle, as it is called now, hopes to continue that legacy… The building located at 5328 W Blue Mound Road was built of Cream City Brick in the early 1900’s. It was operated as a residence hall for most of its first forty years of existence. Then Joe and Mae Feeney purchased it in March of 1951 for $24,000. Joe and Mae operated a successful Irish Bar called Feeney’s until 1974. In 1972 Jeremiah “Derry” Hegarty purchased the location and opened Derry Hegarty’s (Derry’s). The bar and building saw many changes during Derry’s Ownership. The bar itself was moved and two apartments were eliminated to create more bar space. Derry added a “Club” bar in the basement to accommodate more events and private functions. Derry’s was home to many Irish Clubs such as the Hibernians, the Emerald Society, Miwaukee Fies, and the Ulster Project. In addition to these, the Harlequin Rugby Club(now known as the Milwaukee Barbarians Rugby Club)was formed at Derry’s. Derry had many friends including politicians, famous athletes, and clergy. Derry’s was home to the Darryl Porter fan club. Darryl was known to bartend at Derry’s after many Brewer Home Games. In 1985 Derry purchased the building next door at 5318 West Blue Mound road and turned that into additional banquet space. Since becoming the Irish Castle, major renovations have taken place. The old kitchen located behind the bar was removed, and a new full kitchen has been placed in the center of the building. Five garage doors were added to add light into the once dark space. The walls and woodwork were updated to provide a richer look. Art of Irish historic significance and some iconic Brewers photos were added. The space where the former kitchen was located has been transformed into a beautiful back bar and a more inviting customer space. Our new menu is a true gastropub menu featuring farm to table ingredients locally sourced whenever possible. Burke’s Irish Castle is working to build on the past and to create an authentic Irish experience.
