Saint Nicholas Park is a New York City public park located in Harlem at the intersection of Manhattan neighborhoods Hamilton Heights and Manhattanville. The nearly 23-acre (93,000 m2) park is contained by 141st Street to the north, 128th Street to the south, St. Nicholas Terrace to the west, and St. Nicholas Avenue to the east. Much of City College's campus, including the famous Shepard Hall, is located just across St. Nicholas Terrace. The north end of the park contains the National Park Service's historic farmhouse of Alexander Hamilton; the Hamilton Grange. The wooded park features basketball courts, playgrounds, handball courts, a dog park, and New York City Department of Parks and Recreation-designated barbecue areas. Other attractions include large Manhattan schist outcrops, and monarch butterflies that cover the butterfly bushes at migration time.
Harlem Commonwealth Council hosts a variety of programs specializing in economic development, academic empowerment, and entrepreneurship. HCC believes that these three areas of focus are important to cultivating successful leaders within the Harlem community. From its Scholarship programs to its Summer Youth Employment Program, HCC provides opportunities for local youth to reach higher education goals and to develop careers. Harlem Commonwealth also offers programs to assist adults who wish to complete their education and improve their skills—from the Adult Basic Education Program and Microsoft Office Skills classes. For small business clients, HCC houses the Harlem and Washington Heights NYC Business Solutions Centers, which help small and midsized businesses to start and grow their ventures, as well as the Harlem Entrepreneurial Fund. Both programs enable local entrepreneurs to obtain financial assistance as well as important skills to succeed in their endeavors. HCC is more than an economic development organization–-it is a system designed to help residents and those working in Harlem to become leaders in the community.
New York Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was chartered February 20, 1937. New York Alumni's first Polemarch was Brother Irving Hamer. The Keeper of Records, Brother Robert "Si" Jones; and the Keeper of Exchequer was Brother H. Taft Thompson. In the early stages of the Chapter's incorporation there was no regular meeting place. Brothers met at local YMCAs, Elks Home, Basement Room at 135th Street and also at Brother Dimitry's and Delph's homes. The most prominent issue on the minds of Brothers was the longing desire to have a Kappa Kastle. Brother Donaldson put up the first five dollars. This was the start of the fund to buy a house. Brother Donaldson encouraged the Chapter to allocate a portion of their dues for this fund, as well. The fund received its greatest impetus from the Annual Kappa Kruise. The Kruise began in 1950. In 1952 the Boatride netted $12,500 which was placed into the Bank along with each subsequent net profit. In 1959 the Brothers' hard work and dreams paid off. With a loan from Carver Federal Bank of $12,500 the deal was solidified and the purchase of a four story brownstone at 472 W.141st in Harlem, New York, was made. The mortgage was burned during the administration of Brother Oliver W. Parson. Thus, the title of Polemarch Emeritus was bestowed upon him. \ There is an ongoing Guide Right program. The chapter sponsors a tutorial program at Salem Methodist Church. In the Spring of 1996, the Fredrick Douglass Kappa League made the first Historically Black College Tour, visiting schools such Hampton University, Howard and Morgan State University. Today the Kappa League is know as "The Harlem Kappa Legue." During Halloween and Christmas there are children's parties given which are anticipated by the neighborhood the entire year. Brothers also donate gifts to the children during the Christmas party. Under the state's not-for-profit laws, New York Alumni Chapter Scholarship Foundation formed a Reginald Lewis Scholarship Luncheon in 1992. The Scholarship Foundation gives at least five scholarships to college bound young men every year. This year, five scholarships were given at a luncheon at the New York Sheraton. New York Alumni continues to participate in community affairs and looks forward to maintaining its position as one of the jewels in the crown of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Jenny's Garden (formerly known as Riverside Valley Community Garden) was started by Jenny Benitez in 1975. For more than 35 years, she, with a team of volunteers, has transformed the west side of Harlem into a majestic masterpiece.
The West Harlem Progressive Democratic Club is a community based organization founded in April of 2013. We focus on Community Projects, Small Business Development, Legislative Proposals & Budgetary concerns in the West Harlem region. We accomplish this with the collaboration of Community Leaders, City, State & Federal Elected Officials.

Aaron Davis Hall hosts an ambitious, year-round calendar of events, most of which are open to the public. Aaron Davis Hall's stunning architecture houses an innovative two-theatre performing arts complex that presents public performances and exhibitions by students as well as professional artists and serves as the cultural hub of upper Manhattan and Harlem.
The Rosicrucian Cultural Center of NYC (RCC of NYC) is administered through AMORC's English Language Jurisdiction for the Americas (EGL). The RCC of NYC is being formed to provide unique and meaningful programs for Rosicrucian members and those spiritual seekers interested in learning more about Rosicrucian thought.
The goals of Listen Up, a program of Iris House, are to educate young black heterosexual men and young men who are having sex with men (YMSM), between ages 18-24, in Substance Abuse (SA) and HIV prevention interventions. The program aims to reduce substance abuse and the transmission of HIV/AIDS among at-risk racial/ethnic minority young adults while also promoting positive communications among sexual partners to change social norms and perceptions of African American males regarding condom use.

The ASLA-NY Student Chapter at the Spitzer School of Architecture was formed in 2015 as a direct link between the largest organization of professional landscape architects and the only accredited Masters of Landscape Architecture program in New York City. The student chapter provides events, meetings and other opportunities for students to gain connections to practicing landscape architects, as well as a practical understanding of the field of landscape architecture in New York City.

Her students have received Grammy® awards, Tony nominations, and have appeared at major venues all over the world. She is author of numerous vocal pedagogy and voice science peer-reviewed articles and two separate chapters in voice reference books. She has taught at New York University, lectured at Teachers College Columbia University, and is on faculty as a lecturer at Drexel University College of Medicine in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery since 2008. LoVetri is a member of the American Academy of Teachers of Singing, NATS and NYSTA, where she is also a Past President. She is Artist In Residence at Shenandoah Conservatory, The University of MA Dartmouth and teaches at The University of Michigan Ann Arbor and at City College in New York City. She was Singing Specialist with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus for over 20 years and is currently working in concert with BYC and Carnegie Hall in their outreach program for New York City music education teachers. Her theatrical production company will be mounting “Cheers No Tears”, an Equity approved showcase, in spring of this year. Receive your Level I Somatic VoiceworkTM Certification Level 1 Certification is for anyone who currently works with or desires to work with CCM styles. It presents an organized pedagogical approach based upon vocal function and the principles of voice science and medicine. Level 1 Certification is designed to educate the eyes and ears of voice professionals about the healthy use of the voice in any CCM style. Project Rousseau matches college students one-to-one with high school students who are in the same stages of their respective educations (9th graders with college freshmen, 10th graders with college sophomores, etc), so that each of our mentees has one mentor for his or her entire high school career. The goal of the program is to maximize high school students’ potential to thrive in a college environment; we strive to give every mentee the opportunity of a college education. This is a very exciting time for Project Rousseau, and we are looking forward to our new initiatives. This fall, we look forward to launching the Project Rousseau Health Initiative, which contains a series of programs aimed towards helping interested mentees pursue careers in health-related professions. With many new chapters opening up across the country and around the world, we look forward both to supporting our new mentees and the numerous other initiatives scheduled to launch in 2012 and beyond. Finally, we look forward to launching the Project Rousseau Scholarship Fund, which will grant its first scholarships in June 2012.
The City College of New York Model UN program is an academic program designed to have students learn about one of the most important international institutions of the modern era, through an interactive exercise that forces students to confront global challenges and devise solutions through a multilateral context.
The program leading to a BA degree in International Studies benefits from the incredible diversity of the student population at City College, as well as the melting pot that has always been New York City. The range of multi-cultural events, activities, experts and institutions in New York sets the stage for this innovative and dynamic major at CCNY. This program also takes advantage of the strengths of the many departments and schools at The City College of New York and the collaboration between faculty to design unique areas for international focus across the campus. This can all lead to amazing internship opportunities, study abroad and the start of a rewarding career. The interdisciplinary major allows students to develop their own program of study through the selection of an Area of Concentration. The Area of Concentration is a cluster of five courses that the student may choose from among three or more disciplines. The areas of concentrations includes: Culture & Communication, Development, International Public Policy, and International Relations. International Studies majors are also provided with training in cross-cultural mediation which is a valuable skill to prepare students for the challenges they will encounter in their careers. The International Studies Program also grants the students opportunities to participate in service-learning and internship programs which are facilitated by City College.
