Driven by the desire to use her skills as a public speaker and expert legal knowledge of Notary law, Carrie Christensen envisioned Notary Public Seminars in 1994. She began signing up colleges in Los Angeles and later expanded throughout the state from Cuyamuca College to the College of the Redwoods. She presented her innovative program to educate notaries at one day seminars to universities and community colleges and her proposals were well received. As time moved on, the number of classes doubled and tripled. Carrie then realized that she needed help and began training Notary teachers to reach more schools as the demand for seminars grew, eventually contracting with 35 colleges throughout California. She incorporated Notary Public Seminars, Inc. in 2003 becoming the CEO. Carrie pushed herself and her company hard to succeed and soon began expanding into other areas of education. Carrie created, “How to Become a Loan Signing Agent,” during the real estate boom of 2004 to give Notaries a way to parlay their skills into significant earnings. In 2005, Carrie became aware that there was a need for trained Supervised Child Visitation Monitors. She hired top Monitors in the field to write a program that she then marketed to the colleges. It was received with open arms at 9 colleges and the program remains successful today. Always open to innovation, Carrie listened carefully when one of her most successful classroom facilitators, also the head of her own loan signing business, suggested the idea that has become Notary Public Seminars’ most recent class: “How to Become a Transaction Escrow Coordinator”. This seminar teaches students and new real estate agents how to manage a loan from opening to closing. Ms. Christensen hired an experienced Transaction Escrow Coordinator, one who was passionate about her job to create and enliven this next educational extension. NPS, Inc. is woman owned and operated and found the majority of its audience to also be women. Our company is dedicated to elevating its students to the next level of their careers and earning capacities.
