CO-OP Food & Drink is a modern American brasserie and sushi bar serving globally inspired cuisine that is locally sourced and meant to be shared. By that we mean, sharing our authentic passion for food, drinks, hospitality, life, and the aspirations of the surrounding community. CO-OP makes dining a "creative exercise" by combining inventive American cuisine by Executive Chef James London (Nico) with an authentic New York experience that indulges your soul, as much as your appetite. CO-OP pairs high quality interpretations of modern American cuisine with an extensive selection of sushi, sashimi, and other raw items overseen by sushi chef Rio Yonathan. Drinks at CO-OP will be just as much a culinary adventure as the food. Master Mixologist Max Petrich, visits local markets to source the best vegetables, fruits, and herbs to utilize in our seasonal cocktails and infusions. The wine list features solely American wines as a reflection of our locally sourced and sustainable philosophy. CO-OP also serves a full list of wines, microbrews and sakes. CO-OP was designed by DeVinn Bruce (H. DeVinn Visual), who previously worked on projects for Versace, Baccarat, Francis Ford Coppola, Jennifer Lopez, and Estee Lauder. The restaurant is inspired by California during the early 1970's combined with the gritty edge of the LES. The space is warm, clean, and soulful, with hints of glamour and features a photography installation in the dining room of New York City icons such as Moby, Debbie Harry, Betsey Johnson, Patricia Field, and Jay McInerney. The dining room features 30 foot ceilings and was conceived as a downtown interpretation of a grand ballroom. Other major design features include a 40 foot bar and 8 foot sushi bar covered in gold mirrored tiles and a 30 foot communal dining table constructed from one piece of Walnut wood.
