About the Business My business started in 1997, and I have been servicing film, TV, commercial, advertising, fashion, marketing, and public relations projects ever since. The last ten years have brought a dramatic increase in sales and services as I have become seasoned in the industry and established a competent, trusted reputation for excellence. The greatest challenge along the way was finding my way to my desired clientele through marketing and promotional efforts. A huge majority of Isaac Meyers Makeup clientele consists of respected producers, talent agencies, celebrities, and fashion designers. Most of these clients are in the fashion or entertainment industry and know exactly what they are looking for and have the confidence in our organization to accommodate their vision. We are determined that each client is 100% satisfied, and we take great pride that we have never had a bad review or experience. The key to satisfying or exceeding our clients’ expectations 100% of the time is inviting them to detail what their vision is, making suggestions if they want us to, and ultimately understanding what their goals and priorities are. We lay this groundwork with them collaboratively so that we have no misunderstood or unhappy clients and so that we can always deliver excellent service. While I have enjoyed a vast array of incredible opportunities, the pinnacle of my career to this point was working and styling the late Etta James. I was privileged to be this iconic, dazzling diva’s personal makeup artist for six years. I worked all of her tours, Red Carpet events, Dancing with the Stars, and the Cadillac Records Premiere. Etta James quickly became my best friend, role model, and at times my mother, as well as my client. The bond and relationship we formed was strong and enduring. Her passing in January 2012 was a heartbreaking experience for me, leaving a painful void, but her imprint on my heart and artistry are permanent as I still receive guidance in replaying her advice in her distinctive voice in my daily thoughts. The Grand Hotel at 1232-1238 Broadway at the corner of West 31st Street in the NoMad neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1868 and was designed by Henry Engelbert in the Second Empire style. Englebert designed the hotel for Elias S. Higgins, a properous carpet manufacturer and merchant, who had also utilized Engelbert's services to put up a marble-fronted warehouse on White Street near Broadway, and would go on to employ him to design the Grand Central (later Broadway Central) Hotel as well.At the time the Grand Hotel was built, the area of Broadway between Madison Square and Herald Square was the premier entertainment district in the city, teeming with theatres, restaurants and hotels. The sleezier establishments on the side streets soon gave the district a new name, the "Tenderloin". When the theater district moved uptown again, the area became part of the Garment District, and the Grand Hotel became a cut-rate residential hotel.The building was designated a New York City Landmark in 1979, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
